What should I put in a job application when it asks why I was fired from a job?

A year ago I was arrested for reckless driving. My license was suspended for 90 days. I paid a $500 fine. Had to do 40 hrs community service. I have my license back, but my last job fired me because of this. I'm filling out an application for an entry level job, and its asking if I have ever been involuntary terminated from a job, and to explain why, and I dont know how to explain it.

This is a tough one. You could lie and hope they don't find out. If you are lucky maybe they won't find out.

Or you can tell them the truth and put it in the least negative way possible. It could have been something worse. It could have been stealing from the company or something like that.

Did you need your driver license for your last job? If so, you can simply say you lost your license, and don't volunteer any more info. If you got fired because you couldn't get to work without a license, you could say that also.

You don't even have to answer this, especially for an entry-level job. Just leave that job off of the application. Everyone asks every little bit of personal information knowing people will just provide it.
