Have you ever dreamed about starting a business?

I've started several businesses. Service businesses are super easy to start. If I wanted to start a business right now, I could be making a profit within a few of days, maybe even in one day. It is soooo easy to do.
I also had a small retail business. That was easy to start also, but only because I didn't start it, I bought an existing business.
Personally I'd rather work for someone else though. It's so much less hassle. I'll do what I like and I'm good at, and let someone else do all the stuff I don't wanna mess with. I almost don't look at it like I work for the employer. I look at it like they work for me. It's well worth paying them a small cut of my labor to do the crap work I don't want to do.
Not seriously. I'm technically freelance, but I only work for one company, and I've done the calculation of how much money I generated for that company vs how much they paid me, and there's a pretty huge difference (obviously they have other expenses as well, but even then...).
The thing is, by the time I was in any position to go into business myself, it wasn't really worth it any more - I'm already oldish (40+), financially comfortable (own my own home, mortgage free), and as I'm freelance, I already have all the freedom I need. Starting a business now would entail a lot of work and financial risk, just for the sake of a bit more money that I don't really need.
Yes. I thought about a being small manufacturer 5-10 people who produce high quality leather car seats. However I have a job as dentist and landlord of apartments and farmland, it demands too much time.
Yes, I did start my own cake shop after working for others for years. Best idea I ever had.

I respect a woman who likes sweet treats as I mmm 🧁 🍰
Starting a business can be an exhilarating journey. For many, key obstacles include financial constraints, market research, and fear of failure. Personally, I've found it essential to align the business idea with my passions and expertise, which often involves extensive preparation and understanding of both the market and the operational necessities. Addressing these challenges thoughtfully can turn dreams into reality, paving the way for successful entrepreneurial endeavors.

I’m in process now with my brother and best friend to establish a brewery. , the only thing holding us back is money and permits of course , but we been brewing a lot of different styles of beers that we are getting great feedback from customers for , so we aren’t giving up , just taking longer than expected to get past these hurdles that are slowing us down. But my dream is to become my own boss and no longer work for anyone else
I started a new business at the age of 60. I've been self employed for the last 30 year's. I work 7 days a week, and I love what I do. I'll be starting another new business in January 2026. The opportunities are endless when you are self employed and own a company ✌️🇨🇦
I ran a small business years ago. I worked all the time.. Hardly ever took a vacation and every year was a struggle to stay afloat. The business went under and I went back to school and got a degree in computer science and went into the IT field and I never looked back.
I've had five over five decades- along with my "day jobs"- to keep my home and family afloat. They were mostly ion areas where I was skilled enough to beat many overpriced "pros", plus side work in my fields of college study.
Of owning land and growing trees as a hobby, sure. But not a business? Why? I've worked closely with several bosses, and owning a business is HARD. The boss works double that of the employee, often with a ton of overtime. I love my free time, so no thanks.
No... I usually dream about getting into fights. Sometimes I have a good dream and I get some sweet strange. Unfortunately for me though, I'm nightmare prone. It's usually a fight with other dudes that have a chance of killing me.
Yes I always thought I needed more money or more time or to be older or this or that... one day I realized the only thing really stopping me was me. I have my own business now. It started as a joke almost and became my life and happiness
I wanted to open an arcade and have game tournaments for prizes and a posted champions board, but it costs too much when each game would be thousands of dollars. I'd need around $100,000 to start one and I don't see that happening.
Yeah, I’ve always dreamed of starting a little coffee shop. Somewhere cozy, with soft music playing and the smell of fresh coffee in the air, a place where people can just relax, talk, or read.
The honest truth is for the last 5 years I always start up with a business idea but I can never move pass the planning phase to even get to the funding as Its not as easy in this side of the world to get investments without connection
I've started several. My current business has been around since 2018.
If you want something, get out there and get it.
i still do.
you need a lage sum of money to buy a place to open your cafe.
I have had a number of different businesses over the years.
They have done well for me.
A lot of work but you get out what you put in.
Thought about it. Done it a few times. Learned something new each time that helped next time.
Yes who hasn't ; I wanted to be an ice cream man in an ice cream can ice 🍨🍦 🚐
@SueShe true, I'm always the first to say that life's a bitch, lol like Prince Harry's alleged shower cap gift to the Late Queen, just like I equally live my life as though "everyday is equally an exciting opportunity to be bright eyed and bushy tailed and to smile" 🙃🙂👍 and sometimes, just sometimes - good things happen as much as bad things happen, on the daily
Never really thought about it. My dad did and I admire him in that way.
I not only dreamed about it, i did it. I've been in business for 11 years now
@exitseven not since I was a teenager
Yes, tried it a couple times but got nowhere fast.
Yes, many times, but I'm not rich, so I can't, at least not yet.
I really want to start my own sports clothing line. I have no idea where to start. Outside of my designs and energy. I might just present them to established businesses.
I want to make and sell hot sauce, but the peppers are not available year round
Yes, I don't have the finances to afford starting one up.
