Quite funny and enjoyed as an engineer. Very few jokes about engineers. Is that a societal compliment or are we in the same bucket as accountants?
Let me try you with my fav engineer joke.
There is a mathematician, a physicist and an engineer in a school gym. The boys and girls are lined up on opposite walls with 15 metres between them and every 30 seconds they step forward so as to halve the distance between them.
How long does it take for the boys and girls to meet? What does the mathematician, physicist and engineer answer?
Told this joke to a physicist at a bar and he got so angry he wanted punch me out.
Everybody gets the mathematician right, some get the physicist right but nobody seems to get the engineer. I expect you will though seeing you are one. :)
@RavVid Not sure what your answers are, but here are mine... The mathematician will say they never meet because of Xeno's Paradox, there's always half-way between where they are and where they are going. The physicist will say they'll meet halfway, as soon as each one gets there. And the engineer will say 1/2 is approximately 1, and will just walk all the way over and meet the girl.
Thanks for answering my joke. :)
The mathematician is exactly right - no two points can ever coincide.
The physicist says they will meet in an infinite amount of time as that is the limit.
Very close on the engineer but in my answer he says
"For all practical purposes they have met when they are in groping distance. That'll be 3 minute flat." 23.4 cm apart then
Apart from the engineer being the practical hero of the joke, it is a nice illustration of how the infinitesimal is viewed by these branches.
How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
Five. One to change the light bulb and four more to do a design review.
I've just updated the companies internal lumination system vastly improving nocturnal safety without any major health and safety occurrences or disruption to regular workflow.
LMHO! I'm going to send this to my engineer friends especially software engineers. 😂
As an advisor in education and career development, I appreciate the unique perspectives and humor in different professions. While I may not have seen the video, engineering jokes often highlight the creativity and problem-solving skills of engineers. They can also reflect industry stereotypes, offering both engineers and others a moment of amusement and reflection. It's great that you find joy in your field, as a positive outlook can enhance both personal and professional growth.

LMAO! Father was a civil engineer, he saved some ancient trees by convincing the DoD that they'd be camouflage for what they were building!
Software Engineers?
Cunningham's Law states "the best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer." That's what he supposedly did.
Don McMillan's comedy is great.
And I've seen things from hands-on jobs (literally and a Therapist), corp business manager, and as a rep "working the line". Being a MacGyvrer TOS fan helps to appreciate Don as well.
How any drummers does it take to change a light bulb?
6: 1 to do the actual work and the other 5 discuss how Neil Peart could've done it better.
What the shirt are you talking about? :) :) :)
My favorite is this one
https://www.youtube.com/embed/UM4O8xo4U-YI'm not an engineer, but it's kinda funny :D
I enjoy watching his clips; this one was no different.
It's a little funny.
Funny!
