Due to a miscommunication at work, I’m only scheduled for one shift. What should I do?

I’m not losing any PTO for these days, but I’m also not getting paid. I’d like a normal paycheck, but at the same time a break sounds really nice.

Talk to your manager and explain the miscommunication. Try to get it fixed.

Take the break and enjoy it for what it is! Your break is covered and you’ll be okay

Communication is the key & without communicating it’s like a closed door & people aren’t mind readers. As for common sense although it’s not so common nowadays sound the alarms I have a thought. Reach out to the people that pay you & simply unscramble the situation you got yourself into.

You want more hours simply ask, it’s not rocket science.

If the days are limited due to this miscommunication and you are looking for more, then by all means speak up on your behalf with management. At the end of the day, that job is your source of income. If nothing positive comes from the talk, consider applying for a new job elsewhere and/or trying side hustles on your day off. Also, maybe it is time to go back to school or pursue a different career option that you have wanted to do in the past and are still interested in now. This might be the opportunity!
