New job while training let me go?

I started this past Wednesday, all was good. Yesterday night I called them because a woman hit me on the highway. I wasn’t able to work it for my 3rd training shift due to the police taking forever. I called them the second I could. They told me to not come in asked if I was okay. I walked in today and they shook their head at me and said sorry but it’s not gonna work out you called later than the shift and I get that but I legit wasn’t able to call anyone because the cop was talking to me. It is what it is. I feel so embarrassed but I feel like that was so wrong? I understand I didn’t show up but I called trying to explain things. They kind of dismissed me. It is what it is. I offered to come in once the police report was done with, they kinda hung up on me. I walked in today and they straight up fired me in front of everyone. I really wanted this job ugh did I do anything wrong? I know it’s not a good first impression but I cannot control a drunk hit my car. They’re more so mad I didn’t call right away which I get but I was dealing with legal stuff. I called them right when I could.

I am an amazing worker so it really sucks. Once I was able to call them I did and said I can come in and they asked if I was ok, etc and I walked in today no warning just them firing me in front of everyone it took 2 seconds and I walked out. I can’t just leave a scene and the girl that hit me had no insurance she was also drunk there was also a witness it was a whole thing the cop took up all my time I called them

I wish they just maybe took me in the back and we had a discussion. I walked in. He shook his head at me and fired me in front of everyone and it was just that. I get why, I feel terrible I really was excited for a new start but he really just did it unprofessionally in my opinion. I get I was still training but the lack of respect I feel was all I needed to know.

The cop was also asking me for all my information, asking me to explain everything I didn’t have time to be on the phone at the moment because the woman who hit me was also blaming the situation on me she was drunk as a skunk it was a whole thing and so I called them saying I got in a serious accident. They didn’t call me all day today I went in at 4, they fired me as soon as I got in. I don't know why they couldn’t have just called me saying this. I called them yesterday saying I got in an accident. I don't know shit just sucks but the cop was like very involved at the moment I was shaken up I even told him I have to go to work like it was a war zone between me and the chick she was blaming it on me so I really did not have time in the moment to contact work which is why it took so long for me to call

I was very distraught, did not want that displayed over the phone at a new job. I learned my lesson I should’ve called right away. But in the moment being so shaken up I just waited until the cops left and called. That’s what costed me my job. Lesson learned but I really did not want them hearing drama I truly felt that would be worse. Lesson learned like I said though. 😭

Omg I’m so sorry. I just feel like these jobs dehumanize especially 9-5’s. Like this is a restaurant job. I understand where the manager was coming from but I did not leave anyone hanging by any means lol I haven’t even been on the actual schedule yet. I know it wasn’t the best to happen at the training process but life happens to the best of us and if he’s gonna be a douche like that then maybe it was a sign it would’ve ended up worse later on so. I hope your feet feel better.

I left them hanging I suppose actually but I called and tried to make things right and explain he claims I did a no call no show. I get that to an extent but I was in the middle of dealing with legal shit so I’m sorry but I really could only call when I was able it was a shit show with the person that hit me. I felt like this could’ve easily been talked about as a warning or something but they just instantly said yeah no which is ok but it does suck because I really wanted to thrive there.

Thankyou. I think the manager was upset it was an hour after I had to arrive to work. However, I was dealing with trying to get my car in a safe spot, the woman who hit me was under the influence causing issues, police were speaking with me. I should’ve called earlier but everything happened so fast and took so long. It felt like management didn’t even care to hear my side. I get it. But during that situation I was in shock and frustrated I tried to call them when I was calming down.

I did take an hour to call them after they expected me for training, however, they never called me in regards to being late. I called them the second I had a chance and they didn’t seem at all like I was gonna be in trouble they asked if I was okay and said we would talk tomorrow (today) so I came in, and as soon as I walked in he shook his head at me and said sorry but this isn’t gonna work out you took forever to call us. I said I tried calling the hostess he said you didn’t call my cell. I’m new I said I’m sorry I don’t know your cell I called and asked for a manager explaining why and even offered to make it in after the police report was done. I don't know I feel I ruined everything even though it wasn’t my fault but I def could’ve called earlier but I was so shook about everything. and he just basically let me go and I walked out.
