That others opinions truly do not matter (outside the workplace that is).

Recently my boyfriend and I discussed going out for dinner after work. He said he wasn't presentable enough (he was wearing jeans and a tshirt). We were going to a place like Earls. Its not 'fancy' but he felt uncomfortable. I asked him why, and he said that it was because he doesn't know whos going to be there and see him (work colleagues, etc.). I told him that if they judge him for wearing something appropriate, then thats on them. He also dresses up to go grocery shopping. I think that if people judge you on what you do on your personal time, then thats a 'them' issue. He judges me for not caring haha

I realized it’s important to keep secrets while being honest. A Harvard psychologist said, you should never lie, but you should always withhold information. What I mean is, if I am ashamed about my income, I will choose to avoid discussing my income, but I will not post a fake number on social media to trick people.

The vast majority of people are good, very good. But the few percent of people that are bad are truly bad, very bad. I met most of those bad types of people in business. Liars, cheats, backstabbers and more. Anything for a dollar. These were smart people but untalented in real business generally. I think our government is loaded with these types as well. I also think much of the division in our country is caused by these types of people as well for their own personal gain.

  • As I got older, I realized that:

    - Consistency beats intensity. Small daily actions shape your future more than rare bursts of effort.
    - Careers are rarely linear; the “perfect path” is mostly a myth, but transferable skills are real.
    - Health, sleep, and relationships are long‑term career assets, not optional extras.
    - Saying “no” respectfully is a superpower that protects your time and energy.
    - Nobody is thinking about your mistakes as much as you are—so take more calculated risks.

It's very important to tell people that you love them. We never know what people are actually going through and love can a make difference.

I learned that the floor moves farther away from my stood up body the older I get and is much harder to reach now then when I was a younger man.

That loss comes in many forms.

    Loss of loved ones...
A band you listened to might not be active anymore...
A shop or restaurant you used to go to might close...

Politics and commenting on it means absolutely nothing. The more you do comment on it the more ignorant you look.

Also in the end, you are always by yourself.

There is a lot I don't know. Life is different from movies (e. g. good guy doesn't always win) and bad guy may see them as the good guy. Things aren't so black and white. Not everyone has empathy. World seemingly runs on lies.
