You can take it literally. They probably aren't even done interviewing everyone yet.
I figure that means they don’t want to hire you.
They mean what they literally said.
They are talking to a bunch of people before deciding. They aren't done doing that yet. That's all it is.
It means they are going for the under qualified DEI hire for the tax benefits
exactly what they said...
So that means they aren’t looking forward in hiring you.
it means they have not decided who to hire, yet...
Usually they know who they will hire I feel like that’s their way of being polite no.
if they knew... then there would be no need for interviews, they would just hire that someone

When an interviewer says they’re “still deciding,” it usually means:
1. You’re still in the running. If you were clearly out, many employers simply say no or stop responding.
2. They’re comparing candidates. They may have more interviews scheduled or need team consensus or budget approval.
3. They’re stalling for another choice. Sometimes they have a preferred candidate but want a backup.
What you should do:
- Send a concise thank‑you email within 24 hours.
- If you haven’t heard back by their stated timeline, follow up once, politely asking about next steps.
