How can a shy 28-year-old with no experience get hired as a waitress?

Do you need put on your resume a ton of waitress job as experience and lie?
I worked warehouses my whole life but I’m 28 I deserve a promotion or different higher pay role.
jobs don’t give you a chance they Strictly want to see experience on your resume. Just cuz I’m quiet or shy don’t mean I have to rot in a. Corner forever. I never liked office jobs or any job where you are alone, at warehouses you work with a lot of people. i like to move around for work and talk to people. Like a trainer but i hear as a waitress part time you can make 800 or 1k a week & I make very little at a warehouse just 400 or 500 a wk.

I want Dress up wear the same black uniform everyday, & 4 hour shifts would be perfect. I just am worried as it seems hard hold trays full of food.
I’m short 5ft and get told I look like I’m 18-21 not 28. People say I’m cute sweetie sweetheart and treat me as child.
but how hard could it be just smiling writing on paper what they order & walk to the kitchen get their food?

Best way to get into serving (although there’s no harm in just taking a shot somewhere and seeing if they’ll give you a chance) is probably starting as a hostess. I managed at a restaurant back in the day and that was the usual route for inexperienced people looking to wait tables. Most of our hostesses eventually moved up to serving. The biggest thing is probably getting used to managing multiple tables at once. A restaurant needs you to be able to hold your own during a rush.

I never waited myself, I was actually a bouncer and got moved up to Head Of Security, all for the bar upstairs. But they’d throw me downstairs in the restaurant sometimes to manage there. I took a table once during a Tuesday lunch shift when our one waitress had all she could handle, and I did NOT do well, lmfao. I was able to kind of fess up to the table that I had no idea what I was doing and made a laugh of it…but it was a brutal performance. Spilled a drink, everything😅🤣 So…I probably suck anyway, but it is a little harder than it looks, lmao

It's not for you I can tell you that right. Your co workers are going to curse you out and yell at you.

You sound too sensitive and soft to deal with that fast-paced environment with tons of people who are going to be rude and disrespectful to your face.

If it is a small coffee spot or a Cafe you'll be fine, but no you sound like you're too much of a baby to work in a restaurant.

You need a very thick-skin to work in that or be passionate about it.

You're they are going to be really disrespectful to you and the drunk asshole customers.

Trust me I remember seeing a girl who's teacher visited her at her restaurant job and the comedy got upset at the girl and he said "what do you guys teach? Special ed" and everyone laughed at the girl for making a mistake.

You're too soft for that kind of work. My sister worked in a fancy restaurant before and they would yell at her for bagging the food slowly, but she got good at it because she actually loved working in fast-paced stressful environments like that.

If you need a safe space or someone to hold your hand you should work at a coffee shop or somewhere more slow pace.

The fancy restaurant are going to filled with assholes and they are not going to care if you're a sweet heart. They will roast and you're going to be crying.

I didn't hear any reason why she likes this job or what benefits does it bring to her other than surface level things. It's different from wearhouse because you have people with status and money who will humiliate you. Comedian who will insult while you are serving and drunk people who might touch touch sexually.

It's not just co workers the workers will still keep themselves out of trouble because they don't want to get fired, but the customer don't give a shit.

Well if you don't know orders aren't taken on paper anymore and haven't been for many years you're not off to a very good start. You also don't just walk to the kitchen to get their food. Everything is systems nowadays, and those systems are controlled by computers and automation. This isn't a 1950s boy-meets-girl fairy tale movie. They'll know almost immediately you have no experience, the other wait staff especially, not just from these shortcomings, but from everything you're unable to do. It's a very difficult job and an experienced waitress will step right in and know what's going on and prove herself in a very short time.

So, you put on your resume all the work experience or college experience or other that makes you qualified for the job. Work experience in general would help so, your most recent employment reference will endorse you for the job saying you are more than qualified, sing your praises, put in a good word.
Say how those experiences at your job or past experience strengthened skills capable for fulfilling the role of waitress.

Learn not to be shy , especially if you want to make good money in tips , my daughter is a waitress and she is making a killing because she isn’t shy at all and she loves making people laugh and she is a beautiful girl , so that helps her as well. When she comes over after work she will be like Dad look how

honestly only if the restaurant is desperate , is some in my area like that but its a summer tourist area and seems to be few available servers as there is so many restaurants and many of the young women who work those jobs have other career options and don't necessary want to be a server anymore
