You seriously lost me when you listed the beatles. Even if you don't like their music their importance and influence to the musical landscape can't be doubted.

And you hate nirvana because they "destroyed" crappy hair metal bands and one hit wonders like "Cinderella, Danger Danger, Kix, Twisted Sister" oh please dude. you definitely don't know shit about music if you're mourning their demise. If anything that's a reason to praise nirvana.

no, that's glam and rock and roll. Glam rock/metal and rock and roll had guitar solos. Punk rock does not. Most people don't really consider punk rock a rock genre, it's simply punk. This makes sense if you realize how many spin-offs of punk there are (I. e. Pop-punk, post-punk, hardcore punk, or crust punk/grindcore )
