My reviews of some SJW Movies with Anti-White Male themes!

1. Captain Marvel

Basically blonde single white female battles the evils of mansplainning, being told to smile more(she hates that), sexist white men, manspreading, sexist pull ups, being expected to compete on an equal playing field as boys, sexist rope climbing and Daddy issues. Like every Hollywood movie with a white saviour complex she leads the charge against evil racist sexist homophobic white males in allyship with POC who fall in behind her to save the oppressed shapeshifting skrulls (symbolic of muslims, lgbtq, poc) who are not the real villains, the real villains are the kree and the supreme intelligence ( symbolic of white America and US President Trump).

2. Mortal Engines

The basic gist of this terrible movie is that in the post apocalyptic future cities for some reason run on wheels and the evil city of London is roaming the planet preying weaker liberal Europeans. London decides to go East and destroy "POC" city with their new death ray but fortunately a strong independent white woman saviour ally appears to save the day with a tramatic childhood experience of being mutilated by the White Male Bad Guy, of course she has a soy boy love interest.

3. Star Wars Force Awakens

Basically Mary Sue Rey meets up with Finn (the only black storm trooper in the galaxy) after he deserts with fellow person of color rebel pilot Poe to deliver plans for some Super Weapon WMD and is pursued by the First Order and evil Nazi like group lead by evil white males bent on supremacy of the galaxy and defeating the POC Resistance. The resistance destroys the super weapon and Rey despite zero training realises she was strong all along and defeats Kylo Reyne (a euphemism for evil white men, white male anger and white nationalists). She then goes off to find Luke Skywalker.

4. Star Wars Last Jedi

Starts off with the Resistance on the run lead by Admiral Gender Studies Holdo who's biggest battle is not the first order but the toxic masculinity of uppity Mexican pilot Poe. Meanwhile Finn gets saddled with chubby feminist Rose on a side mission with no purpose. Rey finds like who gives her no training at all, instead spending all day drinking green milk. Holdo crashes her warship into the largest First Order ship to allow the Resistance to escape but for some reason this wasn't the first thing she thought of. In the end Luke decides to become an "ally" of the "resistance" distracting angry white male nephew Kylo Ren who has fallen to the alt right side of the force, Rey flies in and saves what's left of the Resistance.

4. Django

I actually really like this movie but there is a clear anti-white male theme in this Tarantino directed and Harvey Weinstein produced movie. Nearly every white character except for the European German is a racist or inbred or a psychopath which is another example of Hollywood's deep prejudice of white folks in the south.

5. Robin Hood 2018

A historically inaccurate movie set in the time of the 3rd crusade in which a young English Lord is sent abroad to the holy land to fight the enemies of Christianity as a lowly archer but soon learns that it's his White Christian comrades who are evil and the Muslim POC that are the good guys. He returns home to find his girl has stacked up with another man and that all his property has been seized. He is then trained by muslim Little John (which harks back to Morgan Freeman in robin hood 1990) played Jamie Foxx in martial arts and archery discarding the traditional English longbow for a superior middle eastern bow. They both proceed to take on the evil white arch villain the Sheriff of Nottingham who is taxing the people to pay for the war while secretly in alliance England's enemies planning to seize the throne. Robin Hood thus becomes the ultimate SJW POC ally fighting the evil white regime of his own government.

6. Get Out

Spoilers if you haven't seen it. Racist white people kidnap young black men so they can take over their bodies and be black themselves in a movie thats basically invasion of the body snatchers only whitey is the body snatcher.

7. Mad Max Fury Road

Got Milk?

Set in a post apocalyptical waste land our title hero Mad Max finds himself playing 2nd fiddle in his own movie as an "ally" to strong independent and handicapable feminist uberwoman Furiousa as she seeks to save 5 wives who have lived pampered privileged lives wanting for nothing from their husband the evil arch old white male villain Imortan Joe who's only goal is to ensure the survival of mankind by rebuilding civilisation and care fully managing the remaining resources such as water and promoting calcium C in milk, not to mention taking in orphan boys and raising them. "Who killed the world?" The answer White Men. Basically Furiousa wins the day with minor help from Max and the kill Imogen Joe and take over his fortress in the end no doubt to run it into the ground. If you ask me Imogen Joe was the real hero.

This is pretty good. I have actually seen a video about how fury road was never meant to be a feminist movie but more of the reverse. You already talked about how Joe is actually keeping everything running smoothly. Some other points were that men also make up the very bottom, the war boys and how the main war boy was a slave to Joe and to the affections to one of the women in the movie, killing himself to save her.

Ordinarily I would offer a prolonged response. In this case though I can only offer a brief reply.

There was a time when I did not miss a movie. Every week included a trip to the theater to see a whole array of films that spanned the spectrum from pop-culture stuff to indie films. Now, however, as the father of three little people - ages 9, 8 and 6 (boy, boy, girl), I search high and low just to find something appropriate to their age level.

To be fair, there are some, including some pretty good stuff - the Toy Story films, etc. It is not that there is nothing, merely that there is not as much and that what there is varies in quality substantially.

So where once I would have been able to be a film critic, my range of film going has diminished substantially over time. That said, I will confess that you have a point. It is not that I object to films with a message - indeed those are often the best - but one grows weary of getting preached to with highly predictable and trendy messages.

It is less the message than the same old, same old repeated on an endless loop. The form varying to be sure. The substance being consistent and consistently predictable.

That all said, you might have done better to review one movie in detail. As it is, I have seen a grand total of one of the movies you reviewed and while I found your analysis of its feminist themes to be fair enough, that does not necessarily suggest that, overall, it was a bad movie. (Though your review of Captain Marvel was not wrong. Actually, I found the film entertaining, but after a while it did grow tiresome.)

Bottom line, there are other great questions that can be explored in literature and film and with more subtlety than the films you have pointed to here. Sometimes a gentle nudge is better than a drop forge and actually there are times when one prefers to be entertained first and preached to second, rather than the other way around.

In this, you have made some sound points. However, by gliding over multiple movies rather than reviewing one, I am not clear where each film lies on the spectrum. Indeed, there is nothing absolutely wrong with a feminist theme - I want my little princess to grow up to be a kind but independent young woman... and the first time she shows interest in modern boys, it is off to a thick walled convent on a high mountaintop overlooking a distant valley in Portugal. (Okay, that was a joke, sort of.)

Seriously, though, your reviews beg the question. Were these good films with a feminist theme, or were these feminist themes around which a bad film was built? It makes a difference and I am not sure, because each review was cursory, where each film sits in that array.

Still, overall, a good - thumbs up - My Take. One grows tired of being preached at by Hollywood. There was a time when films were entertainment first, education second. I would not mind getting back to that.

Women and people of colour can totally take a lead role of a movie and make it work well.

It has to be originally designed as that way though. Changing characters for "diversity" is silly, just create new ones.

Where I draw the line is at making the enemy , masculinity, femininity or a certain race.

Movie makers wouldn't live it down if they made feminism or coloured people the enemies.

So they really shouldn't be able to make men, masculinity or non-coloured races as the true villain.
