Reacting To My Secondary School Playlist #1

So... I made a post not so long ago, about 'songs throughout my secondary school life' and I just thought of songs I remember during secondary school life, off of the top of my head and then added them.

But today, I decided to do some digging and I found my old playlist - by digging I mean I kept on guessing the password to my old account - anyways, I found my old playlist and I have over 100 songs in there, I started this playlist when I was in year 8 (I would have been 12 or 13-years-old) and I don't know how long I kept on updating it for, and I'm aware some of these songs aren't the best, so don't judge me!

I'll just stop rambling and get this started

Song #1 - There's Nothing Holding Me Back, Shawn Mendes.

Okay, so to start off- this isn't too bad. I still listen to this sometimes, because I love Shawn Mendes, I mean who doesn't? And the tune is just so catchy, not to mention his high notes in this song. So, I'm not ashamed yet.

Song #2 - Stay, Alessia Cara and Zedd.

I haven't listened to this song in absolutely AGES! I forgot it existed if I'm honest with you. I'm not ashamed because this song is a bop, the main thing I liked about this song was the instrumental break in the middle, but her voice is good too.

Song #3 - Why, Sabrina Carpenter.

Again! Another song which I completely forgot about! Now I loved Sabrina Carpenter back then and this was a catchy song and it reminded me of Riley and Maya on Girl Meets World, but it also kinda reminded me of me and one of my really close friends- in the sense we were complete opposites.

I was a nerd, I always turned up to class on time, did my homework, I didn't ever get into any trouble, I was quiet and shy.

She was basically the opposite of that.

But despite that, we still were really good friends. We were so close, every morning she'd before school she'd come to my house and we'd make fun of the morning TV and tease my little brother a little bit- sometimes my parents would even insist she eats breakfast or at least has a cup of tea๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ It was like:

My dad: "Would you like some porridge?"

Her: "No, it's fi-"

My dad: *already pouring the porridge for her so she can't refuse*

And then we'd go together to pick up our younger siblings sometimes. We had such stupid inside jokes as well, but at the time we found them hilarious๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

And that song reminded me of our friendship, so I liked it.

Song #4 - Say You Won't Let Go, James Arthur.

I liked this song because it was like a story kind of, I like songs like that. That's a lot of 'likes' in one sentence. And plus, his voice is nice and relaxing, and if I was just in that 'chill' kind of mood this is one song I'd listen to.

Song #5 - Grenade, Bruno Mars.

Bruno Mars, what a voice! And this is another bop which I haven't heard - in forever - and completely forgot about. This was one of those songs I discovered in primary school, and didn't stop listening to it in secondary school. I took me until the first year of secondary school to realise what he did in the end of the video. I'm slow, I know- but in my defence I was about 9 when I discovered this song๐Ÿ˜‚

Song #6 - Mercy, Shawn Mendes.

Another Shawn Mendes song. I found this video funny because he's drowning in a car and rather than trying to save himself by breaking out of the car- he just sings about his lover๐Ÿ˜‚But this was still a good song I liked that part where it goes "consuming all the air inside my lungs, ripping all the skin from off my bones-" and so on. His voice just got really really good at that point, like really passionate.

I saw a comment in the comments section which said something like: "When little kids who you're supposed to be looking after go into your room and start messing with all your things" and I thought that was really relatable๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Song #7 - Thumbs, Sabrina Carpenter.

Haven't heard or remembered this one in ages either. In my opinion, she sounds better singing this song live, but this version wasn't exactly bad. Plus, some of the lyrics in this song were actually pretty ture- but the first verse of this song got me so confused๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚And plus I'm pretty sure this was filmed on the subway they used on Girl Meets World so I was like O_O "Where's Riley at?"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Song #8 - Can't Blame A Girl For Trying, Sabrina Carpenter.

Another Sabrina song!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ At first, I didn't realise what this song was about but when I got a little older I realised it's about her being awkward and screwing up around constantly, mostly around her crush. And I thought of this song the other day, because I just kept on making clumsy little screw ups.

I almost killed my new friend when playing table tennis, twice- I almost fell over whilst playing table tennis, I thought I'd be nice and make some space for other people in the lift but then realised it was a bad idea because then I was squashed, I bent my book, on the way home from college my backpack fell off of my back, then I had to stand on the bus and almost fell over, then when I realised there was a free seat and went to sit on it, I fell on to it๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

So I was just like:

"This is like that Sabrina video where she keeps on screwing up"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Song #9 - The Middle Of Starting Over, Sabrina Carpenter.

ANOTHER Sabrina song, yeah, for quite a while my playlist is just Sabrina songs- I'm sorry guys, but I loved her and her music so much๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ When I discovered this song I was like: "Ohhh finally! A song which is clean and not about love! Yes I LOVE (that was punintentional) this song!"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Song #10 - We'll Be The Stars, Sabrina Carpenter.

Surprise, surprise another Sabrina song๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚At the time I listened to these songs I thought they were so mature and I'm getting a "mature taste in music" but now I'm hearing them again I'm thinking:

"These are the definition of tween pop"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

But whether their tween pop or not, they're still kind of nice- and one day, when I'm feeling a little nostalgic or something you'll catch me listening to these. They're basically like guilty pleasure songs now๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Any last words?

So that's the end of this MyTake. I plan to write more exploring my old playlist. Today, it wasn't that bad but I've just scrolled through it and believe me- it gets bad๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚You think the Sabrina songs are tween pop? Wait until you see what else I have on here๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed it and...

Thank you for reading! :) <3
