Characters Worth Crying For

@Chazmatazz269 asked another great question earlier today regarding if anyone has ever cried over a tv character. Lol I should be ashamed! But y'all know I take my shows to heart. Its just sad because I don’t even cry over 90% of the people who I know in real life. Their breakups, tragedies, and deaths don’t affect me as much as it should. Yet here I am pouring out liquor for someone who’s on screen.

Below are a few characters from tv shows that got to me. #BewareOfSpoilers if you haven’t seen some of these shows.

Max- “The Oval”

BET has this tv show “The Oval”. There are a few attractive characters but this show is repetitive af for the first few seasons and it moves so slow. Season 3 is like Day 3 to these characters. They wear the same clothes almost every episode. Anyways, its about this crooked azz President and first lady who have people killed just to maintain their status. One of the bodyguards named Max (my baby!) comes across their plot and almost gets caught in the crossfire.

Shay and Hawkins- “Chicago Fire”

Chicago Fire didn’t start off that interesting so I’m shocked I’ve stuck around for over 10 seasons. But throughout the show, I became a huge fan of Shay, Dawson, Boden, Severide, Kidd, Foster, Mills, and Hawkins. Shay rocked her messy bun well and I was all for her making a baby with Severide. But that was cut short. And I wasn’t huge on Hawkins with Violet, but hey, whatever it takes to give my man more screen time.

Leslie’s death was sad but I felt it coming. With Evan, I was in shock more than Violet. I really didn’t see it coming. I think she and I had a crying/screaming match during that moment. And the fact that his eyes were wide open hurt even more! It reminded me of Robert Pattinson’s death on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Enzo- “Vampire Diaries”

The Vampire Diaries is one of those shows that I don’t know when I’ll ever rewatch it. Just watching each season once was enough to be honest. That show had some of the most annoying characters ever. I only liked Elena with Stefan. I only liked Caroline when Damon was breaking her neck for fun. I only liked Bonnie with Jeremy. I hated how Matt never got anything good. And more so, I hated when my baby Enzo was killed and who the writers used to kill him. It was so freakin random! I broke down harder than Bonnie! I was whining more than Elena whined the entire series!

Iris- “The Flash”

I’ll keep this one brief. I love Barry and Iris. But if you told me to pick a sad scene involving her death, I wouldn’t know which season to choose from. The girl literally dies every season. And every season, I freak out like its the first time! 🤣

Daniel, Jake, Tripp- “Days of Our Lives”

I went way back with this one lol. I blame my mom and grandma for having me watch soap operas since the age of 3. There are so many characters I came to love, but seeing my Danny Wannie and Jakie Wakie die as well as my Trippy Wippie trying to kill himself over some hoe was soooo hurtful. Tbh, I cried more for Tripp despite his revival! I love all my babies 😭

Damn Near Everybody on “One Tree Hill”

I initially watched the show for Chad Michael Murray who plays Lucas. But I continued to watch the show for Sophia Bush. I don’t think I can finish rewatching because it pisses me off too much. I used to ship Lucas and Peyton but when rewatching, I’m definitely #TeamBrooke ...Whenever Brooke cries, I cry. But I admit, I cried when Lucas and Nathan almost died. I was definitely a Hailey on that bridge screaming Nathan!! And i didn’t even like them mfs lol. Also, not my little Jamie... Plus I even felt bad for Dan.

Michael- “Jane the Virgin”

They didn’t have to do Jane nor my baby Michael dirty like this. I cried so hard at this random moment. These two were endgame! Gina even said it herself despite the dumbass ending to the show. And don’t even get me started on the revival twist that went nowhere. Like why bring people back if its not to make them endgame?

Mark, Deluca, Denny- “Greys Anatomy”

Mark truly was McSteamy and those stupidass writers took my man away. I’m that one person who absolutely shipped his friends with benefits-ship with Callie lol. There were lots of sad deaths on this show but I can’t bring myself to watch what happens to my baby DeLuca. I meeean... coupling him up with Meredith was likely to end in death anyways. I’m in no rush to reach that season. And man who can forget Izzie crying over Denny?

Uncle Jesse- “Full House”

Here’s another moment I’ll make quick lol. But anytime Uncle Jesse and Michelle had those sad scenes, you had to shed the slightest tear! I recall one other where he was off playing guitar and they said Michelle was sick so he rushed home.

Greg, Julio, Raina- Power

Angela was trash leaving behind a good man like Greg for a married man. Straight Trash! I was so sad when both Papis got killed. I totally ugly cried over Greg. And It really hurt because they had my baby Mikey kill Greg! Then when that he died, I couldn’t even be as sad because he was such a crooked fck who deserved payback for what he did to Greg. AndAs for Julio... that was my A1 from Day 1 ☝️👌 Sweet little Raina was too damn nosey. Just another reason for me to dislike Tariq more and more.

Night Raid- Akame Ga Kill

I don’t normally mess with Anime but dang it I loved the members of Night Raid (and my baby Wave on the opposing team). Not everyone died, but I was sad about most of the death’s except for annoying ass Mine. Chelsea’s hit the hardest for me.

Whitley and Dwayne- “Different World”

Okay I’ll make this one quick because it was mostly happy tears! When Dwayne ruined their first engagement i was pissed. But i was all for them again when he interrupted Whitley’s wedding. Seriously they are my fave couple of all time!!

Piper, Leo, Cole “Charmed”

Piper and Leo dealt with death quite a few times, but either way they were endgame! They are absolutely my second fave couple of all time (with the first being Whitley/Dwayne and the third being Tony/Angela). Cole was an evil bastard but man I fell for him almost as hard as Phoebe lol. They should’ve been endgame.

Charlie- Breakout Kings

Now ya know I don’t play about my baby Laz. I only watched Breakout Kings for him and Serinda Swan. Taking out the lead slick took me out. We died side by side...

Boone, Jules, Charlie- Lost

Before he was Damon, he was Boone! It was nice to not have to see him whining over Elena but dammit his sister Shannon on Lost was sooo annoying. I can’t stand Maggie Grace in anything tbh. And I was so mad that Sawyer and Juliet couldn’t see things through. Anything to get him away from that tramp Kate! Oh and don’t get me started on Charlie. I just wanted the kid to be happy.

Lincoln heights Tv series

• DizzyDesii I don't know if you can recall that Tv show on ABC family called Lincoln Heights. it was my favourite show at the time. it where I met Chadwick Boseman for the first time. I recall a series where johnny nightingale had lost his life in a car accident. a hit and run. I cried like their was no tomorrow. I felt everything for that character

Omg yes when Johnny died in Lincoln Heights it was so sad! I dont even remember Chadwick being on there. But i watched just for Cassie and her boyfriend

Yeah Chadwick made his appearance on the show. I first met him there.

I didn't cry over any of the characters in Power, but I was definitely pissed when they killed Julio. 😒

I think Shameless is one of the only shows that has made me fully cry. This scenes still gets me sometimes.

The first few seasons of Shameless are great. It starts going downhill after season 5 (with season 7 being the last good season, in my opinion), I still love it, tho. 😭
It's on Netflix. Or you can always stream it on one of those "unauthorized" sites/apps. 👀😂

Dang a lot of shows do that where they make too many seasons and it starts to go downhill (like True Blood, Vampire Diaries, The Office, etc)

Of the ones you listed, I've heard of several and only watched Full House.

I don't usually cry at my TV or movie (or book) characters but I do relate and connect with them. I yearn to speak with them. Connect. I'm deeply sad when the series ends (even if I can re-stream it). So, yeah, I'll emotionally invest! :) It may just not be tears.

As much as I'm ashamed to admit, bc men don't cry, I have - 3 times: for Clary Fray ("Shadowhunters", the show's finale), Xena ("Xena: The Warrior Princess" by the same producers that made "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) and for John Coffey ("The Green Mile").

It would have been 4 times bc Supergirl's producers hinted that they were planning to kill Supergirl to end the show but we (the fans) hung them up on a thin cord in the town square named "Twitter" for such heretic thoughts and eventually they came up with an alternative ending where she doesn't die.

The amount of effort you put into these post is crazy.. With that being said.. I hardly cry over characters deaths.. Especially if it seemed super contrived, and the actors don't act the scene out well.. Takes me outta the story.. I cry more over animated characters dying really.. 😂😂.. Although, I did hate Charlie's death on lost.. Don't remember if I cried though..

I cried at the end of Avengers Endgame. The death of Tony Stark plus knowing this was the last movie was really sad. Marvel has put out a few new movies since but they have not been very good. The studio is just trying to squeeze every last buck out of the franchise at this point . There will be a new Ant Man movie next month. We will see if it is any good.

I just dislike RDJ and Scarlet Johanssen. Had someone else played his role and not been as snooty, i mightve cared. But if he's arrogant in the comics then nope i wouldve still laughed

I was not crazy about Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark but he really did a good job and if the role helped him turn his life around it is a good thing. But lets face it, everyone in hollywood is a crazy liberal. I cannot even look at Robert DiNiro Scarlett Johansen and Gwyneth Paltrow are among the worst offenders.

Been years since I watched Charmed... might have even stopped watching it because I caught up but I think I finished it. Always liked how Piper would just turn around during an argument, freeze the interruption and keep arguing.

As for the question, yeah, I do tear up when it gets really sad, can't think of any specific examples and Charmed is the only one you mentioned I have seen.

Haven't seen any of these, probably weren't picked by Australian TV. In general I wouldn't tear up for a fictional character but it is not as if I haven't been strongly affected emotionally by characters.

I didn't cry for Christina because she didn't want to actually marry anyways. But i loved her and Burke together. Did yoo see the episode where a big icicle landed on her? Now thats what was sad. I used to cry for Bonnies near deaths but she was sooo annoying. I cried for Matt yet no one ever cared about him lol. Carolines deaths were pretty funny and i was so happy when Elena died for a bit. There’s very few shows that I cry over, but some of my favourites have been Devilman Crybaby, the Midnight Gospel, Adventure time and Steven Universe.
