My Fave Superbowl Performances

So I don’t believe I started watching the Half Time shows until maybe 2012+. I went back and watched a few old ones as well. Here’s my top 10 Super Bowl performances.

BEYONCE AND DESTINYS CHILD

For me personally, the #1 spot still goes to Queen Bey. She is an overall performer. She can sing (not lip sync) while dancing. She honestly makes you forget you’re at a sports event. Plus she brought out Kelly and Michelle to reunite Destiny’s Child.

BEYONCE, BRUNO MARS, AND COLDPLAY

My #2 spot goes to Beyonce and Bruno Mars! They crashed Coldplay’s performance and gave a little Michael Jackson vibe. Now I loooove Chris but he did not sound good live (same goes for Maroon 5 and Black Eyed Peas although the background dancers and Usher’s cameo tried to save their performance).

BRUNO MARS AND RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

My #3 spot goes to Bruno Mars. I like the dudes music but am not even crazy about him, yet he gives his all. Its sooo amazing! And although Lady Gaga did good too, Bruno and Bey don’t allow themselves to sound as “tired” when they sing live while dancing. Bruno was amazing on drums. The Red Hot Chili Peppers killed the cameo.

MICHAEL JACKSON

Alright, now that I named my top 3, everyone else in my top 10 is in no specific order. Next up is Michael Jackson! I mean I don’t think he was singing live but dude just stood still forever and the crowd still went wild. Truly a legend! Plus the way he got the crowd to hold up signs was epic.

PRINCE

Prince did amazing especially to have to perform in the rain! But the thing that did it for me with his performance was how he played the guitar. Plus he sang live! It was so captivating.

JANET JACKSON, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, NELLY, PDIDDY AND KID ROCK

They killed it!! Sure this was the “stunt” performance. And I think Janet was lipsyncing before her song with Justin. But her dance moves were on point! Nelly and Pdiddy definitely made me dance (despite Pdiddy being the worst dancer ever). And Kid Rock omg! I was jumping out of my seat with his intro to “Bawitdaba” where he’s like MY NAME IS KIIIIIIIIID!!! 🤣 I dont even care for the man like that but the way he entered the stage was everything!

AEROSMITH, BRITNEY SPEARS, MARY J BLIGE, NSYNC, AND NELLY

Next up we got Aerosmith and Britney Spears. Okay sure NSYNC was there but they sounded horrible live. Thank goodness they can somewhat dance. Mary J Blige and Nelly were there too but didn't get the screen time they deserved so thankfully Nelly came back with PDiddy AND Mary J Blige came back with Snoop/Dre/Eminem. Britney Spears usually lip syncs but she actually did good here. Her dancing was on point as usual! Aerosmith stole the show though!!

JENNIFER LOPEZ, SHAKIRA, AND BAD BUNNY

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira absolutely killed it! JLo sounded good singing for once. I think Shakira was lipsyncing but we focus on her dancing anyways so who cares lmao! I still felt JLo’s striptease was unnecessary for a sports event but I’m sure it made a lot of men happy lol. I think Bad Bunny was there too. Anyways the latin culture inclusion was beautiful but something tells me BTS and Blackpink will be the next duo to perform.

MADONNA, NICKI MINAJ, MIA, LMFAO, AND CEELO

I’d like to give honorable mentions to Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Missy Elliott, Boyz II Men, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Shania Twain, No Doubt, etc but some of them didn’t sound that great live or they lipsynced. So if I’m going to give the last spot to a lipsyncer, that would be Madonna. It was a sight to see regardless but at times her rhythm was off. Still, I love all of Madonna’s hits plus the cameos. I wish Nicki Minaj or Usher got their own solo shows.

WHITNEY HOUSTON

And the last for TOP Super Bowl performance on my list doesn’t even go to a halftime show performance. I’m giving it to Whitney Houston for that national anthem!

Prince was by far the best performance. Everyone else can fight for second place in my opinion. Purple Rain in the pouring rain? It doesn't get better than that. There's no doubt he's one of the best musician's to ever play the Superbowl, and they've had some great ones.

I dont care for the Purple Rain somg so maybe thats why he's in my top 10 but not top 3. Only Prince songs i like are Black Sweat, When Doves Cry, Kiss, and Controversy. he's in my top 10 because he sounded good live and killed that guitar

Well I'm a huge Prince fan because as a guitar player, I know how amazing he was and as a musician, he was way ahead of his time. "Kiss" is a fabulous song, though I always thought those others you mentioned were good enough but surely not exemplary. "U Got The Look," "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man", "Baby I'm A Star", "Little Red Corvette", "Melody Cool w/Mavis Staples - incredibly hot, "New Power Generation, pts 1 & 2", just to name a very few. :)

To know that I still stick to the 4 songs i named by him. Prince just didn't appeal to me like Michael, Janet and Whitney but i still think he was amazing and talented

Some of those where good but I think you missed Lady Gaga. I think her performance was good and it was just her. I also thought last year with Dr. Dre, Snoop, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weekend was not too bad either. I also do agree I think Whitney Houston's national anthem is the best. I do think the one I like the best is probably Shakira and J. Lo not a big fan of Bad Bunny just cause I can't understand what he's saying.

Aerosmith was my personal #1. Steve brought unlimited energy to that preformance and brittany spears was really good too.

Second favorite was shakira, and J lo with bad bunny.
