just a brief reminder: fans sometimes published alternate endings, that i have seen, and even films have one ending followed by another different ending, as i saw once. this refers to Harry's first year at #Hogwart's when he had the dangerous adventure of the stone.
just a brief reminder of the start of the film, OR skip until % symbol, "in the dark of night, by a home, an enchanted motorcycle flew down. a trio delivered a mysterious baby to the door of a house. this baby had a scar, and the same one with this scar grew older and went to the zoo where his cousin the brat [in book a blond brat punched but in film] pushed him down. he, named harry, felt angry and then the glass mysteriously stopped existing. cousin dud fell in the water with a splash.
later a giant man named hagrid led harry to a place with a bank and magic shops. he got school supplies... for wizard school. there he attended various magic classes for examples charms using a wand, and potion making. Later, harry played a game called quiditch, when he and the competing teams flew on brooms. afterwards, when harry was walking with his two pals hermione and ron he

his scar hurt and he saw quirrel nearby. quirrel called harry to follow him. they walked along corridors when suddenly quirrel ordered "tell me where the stone is." harry did not know, so turned to run. quirrel used his WAND to make a wall of flame so harry could not escape. when harry was trapped quirrel started to strangle him to death same as he already tried to kill harry during the quidditch game.
NOW harry pushed quirrel's hands away so they got burned. quirrel ran away so harry did not kill quirrel. the film can continue: "hermione told the boys the dog was guarding something so they went to the sleeping dog and down the hatch to... several challenges including a chess game."
next, % #harry_potter entered a chamber and saw SOMEONE by the mirror. harry quickly used this surprise to zap the man... using the petrific hex that he heard hermione use on nevvil. the man fell and his turban unrolled revealing a second face.
no fight, now, because harry surprised him so the fight with fire and strangling was when the SCAR HURT.
we SEE ron go to the hospital chamber and send dumbledore to the mirror chamber. dumbledore found harry watching his parents in the mirror. quirrel with voldemort attached, were petrified. dumbledore moved the two-face INTO the mirror same as the red stone had been. trapping voldemort when petrified like stone and ending the threat. now the only mission is...
to find and destroy horcruxes that dumbledore KNEW about then in contrast to discovering at the end of harry's second year.
why did the film not end this way?
the film wanted to use the method called climax, for marketing, so the exciting fight with danger was at the conclusion and involved almost getting the stone... however the author INSERTED into the film, THE TRUE DETAIL that before visiting hagrid his scar HURT preserving the true hint that this documentary film was altered THEN when something happened involving evil voldemort, at that moment, because, by mirror harry truly surprised quirrel.
if so who will harry duel in the ministry of magic, [year 5] if voldemort trapped in the mirror, same as the red stone had been? a weaker evil wizard named wizard wesly wesst. with two ss like hiss.

All I know is they changed it from philosopher to sorcerer in America because the publishers felt American kids wouldn't know what a philosopher was.
close!! even American kids heard of philosophy but they would think "philosopher stone" meant THAT philosophy, which is unrelated to wizard world therefore preferred a magic category title.
