Cohen's singing and musicianship is honestly some of the worst I have heard. Many will disagree but that's just me. I also find that many "artistic" songwriters tend to try to make up for their lack of hookwriting ability by claiming that it is their "art". I would argue Jim Vallance to be a much better icon of Canadian songwriting.
