Can Rowan Atkinson play a serious character in a serious movie?

Rowan Atkinson is famously known for playing as 'Mr. Bean' in Mr. Bean series, also for playing as 'Johnny English' in the Johnny English movies. Mr. Bean was totally meant for comedy but in Johnny English, his character was serious but in a comedic way. I'm just curious whether Rowan Atkinson would be able to act as a serious character in serious movies lol. What do you guys think?

He can play it straight so well (Blackadder goes forth) all you'd have to do is not write him into a comedy.
Hugh Laurie plays the buffoon as well as anyone but seems to be "House" without much bother.

Haha I was only joking anyway. not exactly serious movies 😂 it was voice acting in lion king but not in the Scooby doo movie. he played a resort owner I think it was.

Nah. He's a bad actor that can't play any actual roles so he just plays himself. He's an actor that appeals to the lowest demographic; the people that don't care for the arts or film but think films are 'just meant to be fun!'
