Is there a better actor who could play joker than Heath Ledger?

Willem Dafoe. People claim Heath Ledger did a good job, but he wasn't even accurate to how The Joker acts. Dafoe would be a superior choice to a 2009-era Jon Hamm Batman.

I am a Batman enthusiast and collector, I hated heath ledgers joker! The best is and always will be Jack Nicholson he did not stray from the character! there's no need to. Mark Hamill is brilliant in voicing joker! brings out the insanity of the character. Heath had no business trying to add his own spin to him its not necessary! although Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing portrayal his part was written correctly but still an amazing job. Now I think the actor who might be the best joker of all time would be Willem DaFoe

Jack Nicholson did a great job, I think Pete Davidson could do a good job at it or Jim Carrey.

In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a better acting performance in any role whatsoever.

It is criminal that he died so young. He was an amazing talent and had so many more excellent roles in him that, because of his passing, will never be.

I've always wanted to see Jim Carrey take on that role. But we got The Riddler instead.

On the one hand, in most of his roles, he just plays as himself... So maybe it might not work.

But he could DEFINITELY rock the clown-prince-of-crime look.

He didn’t have the creepy car salesman smile that Jack Nicholson has. He was VERY good for the role though and won a lot of awards for his performance. I’m not sure if it was authentic acting or it was because it was his last film.
