I hate MM as a person (doesn't help that he owes me money)
As a musician he's mediocre at best can't play a lick on a guitar to save his life.
Reznor on the other hand is quite talented. Both PHM and Downward Spiral were good solid disks. I still have a few tracks from both on my heavily played song lists. I understand why they hooked up Trent isn't much of a front man seeing him live was jist watching him stand behind a bank of computers and keyboards.
Also he doesn't owe me $$$
bothare parodies of pete murphy who himself was a homage to bowie and marc bolan... funny how the youth think its all new but in reality its only new to them and has all been done before... i myself had purple hair over 35 years ago and still have a stud in my nose at 52... i know there is no telling you because no one could tell me but i will say it anyway... see it for what it is. youth subculture to express an individuality that is in itself a fashion bandwagen

Marilyn has his moments but Reznor is more significant and a better composer.
Last time I listened to those guys was probably 1997 or 98 maybe?
I also liked Rob Zombie.
