Also I would say it depends on the type of music they’re singing I think for more Beyoncé sings that are when it comes to pop and hip hop music (granted I haven’t heard much of her show style music). Mariah Carey is more of a show style singer like she can do an excellent Santa baby and other older style of singing. As far as straight up singing goes like being able to build out all of her lungs I would say Christina Aguilera is the best. I agree with some peoples opinion about Mariah over using her voice later throughout the years and her voice is not the same like it was when she was younger in the 90's. If you watch her singing live at the NYE show her voice was out of it and sounded horrible. Her voice cracked when she did her usual high notes. I heard Beyoncé not singing good live and been to some of her concerts when her singing was off pitch but her dancing was better. You never see Mariah at concerts dancing since she has backup dancers and its her just singing.

You're wrong and here is why: Mariah cannot sing the same not due to age but because of technique. Although she had a very high voice she was more for a mouth singer while singers like Beyonce are more closer to that of someone with amazing technique like Whitney Houston (before drugs). Mariah could have keep her voice but she choose not to sing with the type of technique that would allow for that to happen. Ella Fitzgerald is a great example of using good technique and keeping your voice into old age. Also the dancing is more so helping Beyonce's case. Her breath support has to be near perfect to sing while doing that much other stuff. Beyonce is the better vocalist and Mariah had the whistle tone and if not for that must wouldn't even say Mariah.

Better in what way? Who sounds better is a matter of taste & opinion. I prefer Mariah Carey’s sound. But I think Beyonce is an overall better singer in terms of skills, singing quality etc. If their voices are instruments then Beyonce is much better at playing her instrument. But then they have other qualities. Beyonce is a top class, probably one of the greatest ever entertainers & performers. While Mariah is probably one of the best song writers, something I feel is very overlooked.
