Not many folks around here remember John Denver. I remember the day he died.
But yeah, I liked his music. I don't understand people who can dismiss whole genres of music.
Yes I remember hearing about it the day he died also. Without looking it up, I'd say October 1997. The reason I remember is that I had just moved like a couple of weeks before that.
@ArrowheadSW well I was into alternative rock. And there was this show called “Bill and Wendy in the morning” and they were mocking his death saying, “bring me the head of John Denver”. He died in a plane crash. He was an avid pilot.
Nope. Still hate it. It actually makes me angry listening to it.
@Cypress_L
"The lyrics DON'T matter. I still hate how it SOUNDS."
Here's another two songs with "great" lyrics. Now you tell me how "good" they are and why I'm "supposed" to like them.

Oh cheer up... www.youtube.com/watch
@mcheetah I don't think I have the patience to look up the lyrics to this crap. Don't much care for taking word either. Either way you make a point.

I'm not one of those who dislike country music but I definitely dislike old country music. I prefer the more modern version of country, where Alan Jackson is my number 1 country singer. Also Clint Black and Aaron Tippin but I don't listen to them very often, only to AJ. There's also one song I like listening to sometimes but I keep forgetting the name of the singer :D , fortunately youtube remembers it for me. :P
https://www.youtube.com/embed/jAG4XXCOj48I learned a long time ago to not make fun of other's cultures and history especially as it relates to their music. I have been introduced to all kinds of music all across the globe. Some I liked and some I did not. If country music is not your cup of tea that's great. If I had my rather's I would sit down and listen to a great Piano Concerto but that is me. I never was a large fan of John Denver. I was raised listening to country music. As I said, I rather listen to classical today!
I like The Eagle and the Hawk better. Reminds me of flying.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/3n4BPPaaoKcThis song is a classic but I like all kinds of music, Country and Western.
Did someone say "western"? I got you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzICMIu5zFY
That’s very good music no matter if you’re a country fan or not
kids music today be like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ2mEuBweWY
Easy to listen to this song, and easy to sing along!
Quit sounding wise on this app!!! 😂
@roaring20sman :) :) :)
I love that song, but I wouldn't classify it as "country". It's more folk music. Most modern country involves one of five topics: Tractors, Trucks, Fishing, Girls or Alcohol
True, but denvers magic here is poetic and paints a picture of a man longing for home. Most country songs now are about meeting in a bar, going to church, getting married, then divorced and then doning the whiskey glasses...
I don't mind country music at all, but rarely something I actively listen to. Though, this one is a true classic song for any genre! Also love to sing and play it on my ukulele :D
Country pre-80s is some of the most raw and poetic music one will ever come across. Most people just don't know where to look. Its fallen off a cliff since Reba.
I like country but not Bob Denver, so I’ll have to say no.
It's folk music, not country.
And he never uses that ugly twangy-twang metal guitar...🤢🤢🤢🤮
Yes. Take me home country road👍
I can't vote because I have learned to like country music. I listen to music from all over the world. My favorite song I sing all the time is "Annie's Song" by you know who.
it is a good song and i love it, there are some country music songs that i do agree i like and are upbeat for me to sing along too, even if i am not a fan of that genre.
God damn it! I can't vote. So, I can't see the results.
Shit, I've never heard this song or don't remember it. It ain't Thank God I'm A Country Boy. Still can't vote. Like all sorts of country.
Not answering poll because I DO like some country music. George Jones, Marty Robbins and such.
John Denver is not country, lol. He is what you would cal a folk singer/song writer. Not country.
Yes. I have always loved that song!
I like some country but not that one.
It's a great sing but I don't think of it as Country. John Denver was kind of hi own genre.
