I'm a winning Poker player and I insist that it's not gambling. I worked a $25 deposit and then I lost it. (Okay, maybe it was gambling back then). But then I read more books, did a lot of statistical analysis, and tightened up my game. Then I put in another $25 deposit and worked it up to over $10,000.

I'm a volume player. I peak on the weak ones. My skill edge is small. But I make money off the worse players. Live players are even softer than online. 4/8 live is softer than 0.25/0.50 NLHE.

I don't do any other forms of gambling much unless I spot a weakness. I don't gamble against the house unless the house is weak, like if the house is just shuffling 4-deck shoes for blackjack every four dozen games. Then I can count the cards and reverse the house edge and maybe gain a percent or two in my favor.

Craps and blackjack are my games of choice. I enjoy draw poker, but that game is not played in most casinos.
