+1 yA lot of different stuff. My dad made me listen to pretty much anything with a guitar that wasn't metal because he hated rap. Tom petty, Rick Derringer, Mark knopfler, the cars, Brad paisley etc. My mom got me into jazz and rnb. Like Whitney Houston, George benson Steve halpert sonny Rollins. My grandma used to play classical music in the car wherever we went so that's always been a genre I liked. Most of those names are really hard to spell. My parents were really against rap so I didn't really start listening to it till I was maybe 12. I was really into biggie Eminem, gangstarr, jay-z.
Then I started getting into edm and progressive metal. Yellow claw, quix, boombox cartel, animals as leaders, plini etc.
So yea, I like a lot of music lol

+1 yThis is brilliant and funny. When the time was 1986 - 1999 my parents would listen to trendy stuff which was breakdance, techno and old school gangster rap.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/L8b603CkibkNow the funny part: I was born in 1996 and inherited/listened to all the music they've had on their legendary music player. That's how U've discovered it. I still enjoy it up today and it became a passion to me > MUSIC. Surely, I have listened to new school music and I like it, too.

351 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, the Carpenters, Cliff Richards, Perry Como , Paul Anka and so many more. Our house was always filled with music and I will always cherish those memories forever. Last time I went to visit my parents, I came home to a nice familiar smell and sounds and sights! My father was cooking fried chicken in the kitchen while my mom was preparing the table. I had to take a video of that very moment while the music 🎼 was playing and seeing my parents in the same room as me! One of the happiest moments of my life. I was a child all over again! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

That story made my heart melt
My mother was a baby boomer and grew up during the hippie movement. When I was a kid, she played all the 60's/70's classic rock and 70's/80's funk/soul. She has good taste in music actually.. she gave me all her vinyl records. I ended up liking rap/hip hop, but I still listen to that old music and I saw Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, the Commodores, War, and Average White Band in concert. I saw Bon Jovi also, but Idc for him. My husband likes that guy.

+1 yThose cheesy and catchy 80s disco and rock songs is what my dad use to listen to and keeps trying to play it on our keyboard. I can give 4 examples. But I'm not quite sure about my mom's music tho. She just listens to whatever comes out of the radio.

Occasionally, she'll add some 2000's R&B/Hip Hop or rap. That's pretty much all she listens to, while I kind of listen to whatever, but not really a fan of those genres, tbh.
10 ReplyMy grandparents raised me. They listened to everything from classical to 1940's vocal bands to early rock and roll to 1960's and 1970's pop. My grandmother was more mellow than my grandfather and she also listened to a lot of country. My gramps was a bit more wild so he also listened to Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and Blue Oyster Cult, 1980's metal and shred. He was a huge Joe Satriani fan.

10 Reply My mom was an opera singer, my father was listening to Bulgarian national music. They both tried to brainwas me with their music but failed. I started listening to music with DJ Bobo and later I discovered metal with Nightwish. Nowadays I rarely listen to them, I prefer black and death metal.
