Why did ou guitarist leave?

So I have a band (I'm the bassist) and we were looking for a guitarist. So we found this very good guitar player he's aloso a teacher and he's our singer friend. So we decided to do a jam sesession in his house including me him and the singer (the drummer was not available) . And so we jam for 4 hours straight we had so much fun and he also liked everything that I was playing he was constantly say :I love that can you repeat that eccetera. .) but unfortunately the next day he called the singer and said to her sorry i can't join thè band because I didn't feel the alchemy but if you want we can do another jam session lol. That literally chocked me because we had so much fun and aloso how can he say that without having a real jam session with the drummer in a real studio how can hè be so impulsive in he's dessicion anyways he really desipointed me.

I'd tell him you're auditioning other guitarists and you'll get back to him. He's joining your band, not the other way around.
I've never heard this one in all my years in bands.

He must have had some other reason and just didn't want to tell the truth, because a four hour jam session says otherwise.

that's exactly what I was thinking. He said to my friend that he won't even recommend us for one of he's student loool and that I should play with a metronome. Remember we don't have a drummer and he didn't prepare the song so he was making a lot of mistakes xD and for the impros I improvised every genre funk metal prog experimental and he loved it and told me ohh I love that please keep going and he played with me !! like wtf is wrong with him
