If a musical group only has one hit record it was called a One Hit Wonder. When I was a kid it was this one.
The two top ones are Dexys Midnight Runners "Come on Eileen" or A-ha "Take On Me".

I saw Jerry Corbetta, the keyboardist who wrote, played and sang the song perform with another "all star" band at a casino in the 90s. They played that song. It was great.

Wolfman Jack was the host of the event.
My favorite one hit wonder is Let's Get Together by The Youngbloods.Who Let The Dogs Out! Which to this day, I still don't know is about ugly women at a club, or rude misogynist men at the club... Or literal dogs that broke out of the holding area. The fact they used a song about ugly women and/or men who are jerks, for the freakin' Rugrats movie though, is HILARIOUS! I ironically and unironically enjoy this song!
https://www.youtube.com/embed/DJpeAlLmj78This is the first song that came to my mind. (I don't know why. I don't even have it in my playlist. I used to like it, back when I was a kid, I guess. Maybe my brain went to one of the oldest memories.)

I've never heard your Sugarloaf one.
There are a few. One I remember quite well because it was a fun nonsense song.

As embarrassing as it is, I lived Achy Breaky Heart (Billy Ray Cyrus). 😬
Such a great song. I loved this song so much that when I was a kid I made a dub of it on my cassette tape when it was playing on the radio so I could listen on my Walkman.
These kids today don’t know the struggle. ✊
Anyways, I honestly don’t listen to many one-hit wonders. I’m very, very into music so if a group only has one good song I just sort of shrug and go “meh.”
I mean a hit song in many ways has a bit of a formula behind it. Usually mindless, brazen repetition. “Hey Macarena!” “Who Let the Dogs Out?” “Jump Jump” by those kids who wore their shirts backwards. That stupid Justin Bieber song where he just says “Baby, Baby, Baby” and squeals like a castratto. None of these are “good” songs. They are so simple a mongoloid could sing a-long to them.
And they do.

I have a top 100 of them... but this one came out recently (enough) in a conversation... lol

Here's a unique presentation of it...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/MMRVbhbIkjkSugarloaf had 2 hits. The second was, "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You".
Having over 60,000 records in my collection, it's next to impossible for me to pick just one.

I guess, for now, I'll go with this.Big Country "In A Big Country" was their big hit in the USA, but there are a lot of songs by them I really, really like. And of course they were much more than a one-hit wonder in the UK.

I think he had just one album and there were some other good songs there but this was the only success on charts and on radio; perhaps also because of MJ's backing vocals.
