This song is the epitome of the one-hit wonder and is arguably the most famous one-hit wonder of all time.

"Afternoon Delight" by The Starland Vocal Band. This song was #1 right around the time of the Bicentennial in July 1976 and was on radios all summer long.

The song was so huge and with the group's wholesome image, they got a 6-week TV show on CBS in the summer of 1977 and which included David Letterman.

I was at an outdoor bar in Thailand (most all of them are) and the band was taking requests. I wrote my request on a piece of paper, handed it to the guys, and put around five US bucks in the jar.
