Liverpool is hosting the next eurovision. Do you think it was a good choice?

So it's finally over and Liverpool have won the race to host the next eurovision. A city, planes refuse to fly over incase their wheels get nicked.

Do you think it was the best choice and will you be going.

So, kind of like the UK's version of Baltimore...

I'm sure the city only sees £££'s, but my question is: do they have the infrastructure and security to host such an event? I don't know the answer, but often, a city that isn't set up to host such events ends up losing a lot of money when they try, because the government has to build out those services from scratch, whereas a city that already has the infrastructure to host similar events - and routinely does - can host the event profitably, and with little strain or hassle.

Most often, this is just a means for governments to funnel money to contractors who provide kickbacks and "donations" to politicians. Rarely is it genuinely done for the best interests of taxpayers as a whole.
