Wales and Scotland would like to go solo as they do in sporting events so we won't be embarrassed by England dragging us down or the usual anti-England voting.
Thought?
Well, I have the feeling that allowing Wales, Scotland and England to participate as different nations, in the sense of different clubs of the same United whatever, may help avoiding more serious confrontations. What harm can be done to have a kind of confrontation by procuration? Imagine one of them winning a competition: wouldn't at last the fame be as well that of the particular symbolic nation as that of the UK as a whole?
England, Scotland and Wales are separate nations. They should have their own Eurovidion entries... as a first step toward independence.
I know I left out Northern Ireland. It's my hope that one day, the entire Eire island can be one unified country.
Yes, and let's include Northern Ireland as well. What I do not understand is how or why Israel was allowed to enter the competition. And Turkey! Neither are European nations either geographically or culturally.
And Azerbaijan.
And Cyprus, Georgia and Armenia are geographically in Asia too.
Israel is in it, because they got kicked out of the Asian Football Confederation by the Muslim countries, so UEFA took them, and they figured since they already let them play football in Europe, they might as well let them sing. So Israel has much closer ties to Europe then they do with Asia. It's not their fault that FIFA is corrupt and allowing politics to be mixed with sports. Europe was kind enough to take pitty on them and take them in as one of their own.
@KostasKouvalis cypress and Armenia are in Europe
@KostasKouvalis yes but it’s not about geography it’s , how everyone has documented it as a internationally
@KostasKouvalis Georgia and Armenia are in Asia.
But Turkey is 50% in Europe
@KostasKouvalis okay , but that makes it confuseing if it can join Europe or not , even if it’s 1%
@Kelly6 It's at the discretion of the EU. Georgia, Armenia and Cyprus are geographically in Asia but have political and cultural ties to Europe
Turkey on the other hand, does not meet EU standards.
I think Turkey plays in UEFA too, if I'm not mistaking. I honestly don't know why Turkey is considered European when it comes to sports and entertainment
@KostasKouvalis because is capital is in Europe
@KostasKouvalis wow changed the capital !
First Istanbul was capital
@KostasKouvalis yup lol

It's a far cry from Bucks Fizz...
After ''Brexit'' ... I wonder how the UK fits into this contest anyhow
:D
(but then... even Turkey's contributions are tolerated here)
Anyhow - the really 'important' music is played and made outside of this pathetic ''competition''
:D :D
(but then - ''important'' is perhaps the wrong word)
:D :D :P
I don't really give a shit about the Eurovision Song Contest in the first place... but I wouldn't want to be dragged down by the Saesneg in any context. The English are all Danes once or twice removed, so they should just fuck off back to Denmark.
I second this. I vote we kick Azerbaijan and Turkey out, and give those slots to Wales and Scotland
https://www.youtube.com/embed/54H3EUAzpVghttps://www.youtube.com/embed/N8WVu6MJsS0Yes 100% back it, it’s fairly shit that it’s always been UK.
Both should have their own go at humiliation.
In theory? Great idea but where does it stop? Flemish and walloons? 16 different Länder? Kalingrad? It would be chaos but I hear you.
America should be allowed to crash the party and show all of those Eurotrash wannabes what real music sounds like.
Three teams? Now that's just greedy. Besides in that case other countries should also be permitted to send more than one team.
They do for the World Cup: England, Wales, Scotland, Gibraltar...
Let anyone else be included ( if they qualify).
