A 911 emergency call made after Jeremy Renner was run over by a seven-ton snow plow on New Year's Day indicates that the right side of the actor's chest collapsed and his upper torso was crushed.

The injuries to his chest and torso were reportedly making it difficult for the Marvel star to breathe before he was airlifted to a nearby hospital from the scene of the accident at about 10am on Sunday morning near his home in the Reno area.

On Tuesday, Renner shared a picture of himself in his hospital bed with visible bruising on his face and thanked well-wishers for their 'kind words' in his first post on social media since the accident.

The actor, who was left in critical condition following the accident, has had two surgeries that involved metal pins being placed around his leg that got crushed by the snow plow.

Unlikely, but at least he's alive. And I hate to be that guy, but he got injured from his own negligence by stepping in front of heavy snow plow machinery. Not to say this should've happened, but he was careless. But again, at least he's alive and in one piece.

He won't work in Marvel again because he was already basically retired anyway with that dreadful Hawkeye show where they replaced him with Kate Bishop, a diversity hire Mary Sue character nobody in the comics like, just like the rest of Phase 4. He likely wasn't going to be in any more major movies after Phase 4 anyway.

Only time will tell, hopefully he makes a full recovery, though if he does, it likely won't be quick.

The fact that he even survived being run over by such a heavy vehicle is certainly bordering on "superpower" level durability status though, so that seems very encouraging to his recovery chances.

Most people would have died instantly being run over like that.

I think he was already probably done with marvel. Which is great, because it’s gone to shit after stan lee died. Being overrun with cheap hack actors and woke agenda. Jeremy Renner is an exceptional and completely underrated actor. He’s been in a lot of thoughtful types of movies that show many more dimensions. But I did love him as Clint as well 😊 hoping he recovers well

Jeez… it feels a bit unreal. He’s such an icon to me even though he’s underrated. It’s pretty depressing. I’ll pray for him and hope everything turns out for the best.

Kate Bishop isn't fully fleshed out yet to be a standalone so they still need Hawkeye.

Absolutely he'll be able to. Will he be able to play as physically as he did? Possibly not, but that is yet to be determined. We don't know really know the full extent and possible long term effects of his injuries.

Such an awful tragedy. I get people saying, “it’s a celebrity who cares” but it’s not as if he just died from a heart attack. That was a horrid accident that must’ve been unbelievably painful. I shudder picturing the screams of a grown man.
