Who else loves Grease?

I can totally relate to the character Sandy, minus her excellent body and gorgeous face. But I love the acting and music.

I love the music of Grease but it’s the stupidest most sexual, social irresponsible dribble ever. At the end Sandy changes to be a bad girl to impress a guy, Rizzo just suddenly isn’t pregnant, and Frenchy just doesn’t have resolution. “You are supreme, the chicks will cream” and “you know I ain’t braggin’ she’s a real pussy wagon”
Add to this that none of the characters have a character arc for the better and all you have is a shiny movie with some pop tunes.
I prefer Hairspray. It takes place during the same era but is socially responsible, has some great dancing, and a more compelling plot. The characters have arcs and it’s just a better movie. Also the actors look high school age and not in their 30s.

I'm totally biased because I generally enjoy musicals, but I adore it. know all the songs by heart and ONJ's death last year made me pretty sad. it's a fun movie overall.

Well, it was made in the fifties. Time and place and with women wearing corsets and changing looks and behaviour for men, mum wonders why they bothered fighting for feminine rights. So I see your confusion. With all the political correctness.
