When I was little, I was terrified of large bodies of water and was at this water park, and my parents wanted me to go down this waterslide, but I was like, "No way", and I ended up going, and when I went down, I went under and almost drowned. The lifeguard had to give me mouth to mouth.
I think the reason it took her so long to get to me is because so many people go to those waterparks.
After she revived me, I opened my eyes and she was standing over me. She was really pretty. That was the only good part to that day, lol
After that, I took swimming lessons a whole year until I got good. I'm still afraid to go near rivers and large lakes though.
I got my Senior Lifesaving badge in college.
I'm somewhere in between. I can swim but I can't raise up my head during swimming so that I can breath and continue. I need to stop in between to take a deep breath and then continue.
What you just described is called drowning.
@supercutebutt I don't drown though! I never did! I make sure to swim in a safe depth of water, slightly below my shoulders. I just need some more practice.
Well true. I mean, if you were a drowning victim, you wouldn't be responding to me. :)
@supercutebutt yeah right.
I swim several times a week. It is my main form of exercise.

I've lived on Georgian Bay most my life and grew up in the water. I took swimming lessons, became a lifeguard (National Life Saver - NLS) and my Swim Instructors card.
I taught lessons/guarded throughout high school during the summer period and while I was at university.
I also obtained my advanced PADI SCUBA divers certification. I'd either be fishing, SCUBA diving, Snorkeling, windsurfing or just swimming of the shore on my days off in the summer.
I still go swimming all the time for my job and on my weekends.
The life guarding and swim instruction were good paying jobs for a student and it was a great way to meet women. LOL
I can swim, yes. I worked as a lifeguard one summer and I also lived by the beach for a year and went surfing/boogie boarding at least every other day.
I have also taught several people how to swim, which can easily be done in the shallow end of the pool (or in a wading pool).
I only started learning when I was almost 16. I was sad when swimming lessons were done because I wanted to practice more. Still would if I could.
I can keep my head above the water, and get from one end of the pool to the other. But that’s about it.
Do you live on "Provo"? I can't think of a better place to swim.
Yes I know swimming. I don't know all the styles but I can do decent swimming.
I want to learn but don't have options to where I live.
I'm pretty sure I was put in the water at like 6 months but we lived near the beach.
I can, but I'm not a strong swimmer. I know just enough heheh
I can swim like a.. Well a pretty good swimmer!
Gladly yes and I don't even need that kind of flotation device. The one in the picture.
I did learn, out of necessity... lol
