After diablo 4 is anyone else just done buying blizzard products?

I don't read what other people think. I don't watch critique videos on the game.

I was simply extremely excited to play.

I got one character to 72 and put the game down and I don't plan to play it again.

I've been playing blizzard games since like 1999 or 2000. It's been at least 23 years of playing blizzard games and enjoying the everything hell out of them.

But in the recent past blizzard has just gone down and down and down to the point where I am completely done with blizzard.

If they were to reject their corporate overlord and go back to making games for the love of gaming, I'll give them another chance.

I know that won't happen.

I'm glad I'm not the only one disappointed by D4. I used to look forward to doing seasons in d3 even if it was repetitive but in D4 I think I'm gonna skip doing seasons. I never even finished the story (though I plan to eventually because at least it's been interesting) but the game play has not been fun at all. I really hate monsters leveling with you. I also played prebuff barbarian and was dying a ton to boss fights.

With how Overwatch 2 was a disappointment and now d4, I think I'll just stick with playing classic wow servers and that's about it for blizzard.

I loved d3! I played the fuck out of d3. I did seasons many times and got myself on the leaderboards. It was a very fun game.

In d4 I hate the way elites are. I hate the monster packs. I hate the monsters leveling with you. I hate the way the gear and items are. I don't like the way a legendary item affix can be on any kind of item.

I don't know I could go on.

And the game is unpolished. I saw a post where someone discovered that the weapons and names were all mixed up. An axe was a sword and a sword called an axe for example.

I hate the way everything is dodgeable. They made it so that you're basically a whackamole and the npcs are trying to bop you.

I think elite mobs should be attacking you fast and furiously. You should be taking constant damage and managing your health and skills.

Not watching big goat men for their massively slow and dodgeable attack that stuns you for 5 seconds if it hits.

I don't know it's so many things. I just doesn't feel right.

I agree with a lot of those points too. I massively enjoyed getting gear and my skills in place to just Dynasty Warriors my way through packs of monsters like you could in d3. The leveling monsters especially drive me crazy. I never feel powerful in this game.

I picked up path of exile and grim dawn. They are both way more fun than d4. I genuinely was having fun playing them.

But poe is so deep and complex and it's overwhelming but it is worth getting into.

Grim dawn is fun, not hard to get into. Combat is fun. The skill system is awesome with like 10 or so classes, and you can have a dual class spec, such that you can mix any two classes for endless fun combinations of skills and such.

Blizzard is just dead to me now. I can't fathom how they fucked it up so much when there are so many other good games.

There's others I want to try too but can't remember the names.

I saw that classic wow has been having a resurgence lately.

Classic really is a timeless game. It's one of the best ever made. Blizzard has quite a number of games from the past like that.

Maybe it's just hard to stay at the top? Lol.

It's definitely Activision that is the problem.

I've tried PoE for a bit but I don't have as much fun unless I'm playing with someone else.

I play wow classic from time to time when I need my fix but I have so many other games I'm playing that I don't have time to dedicate to it. Besides that's another one where it's more fun with others.

The motivation shifted from making great games to making the most money. They forgot that the best way to make lots of money is to make great games.

The best way to make money is to draw in the masses of extremely casual gamers to get them to spend their money.

I think they are running off the fumes of the name blizzard.

When they run out I hope the company collapses.

I hope blizzard makes itself anew under a new name with passionate people who want to make games for the sheer love of them.

Well, I suppose the indy game market is exploding. People want actual fun.

I hope the pendulum starts to swing in the right direction.

And these days I don't even play games like i used to. I have shit to do.

I can't waste my time on a bad game anymore.

I recently re-upped WoW, but I’ve been so busy this summer I haven’t had much time to play with my friends on it. Dragonflight is a decent expansion, but as a whole Blizzard products just aren’t what they used to be. I didn’t even bother with D4. Blizzard games have become soulless copy/paste sequels. In fact, most games are. Elden Ring was the first game I played in years that I felt like I did when I was a kid with a new game.
