Yes, I absolutely care. Not just about myself, but for others as well. It's just common courtesy. I also make sure to pee before the movie starts, and I intentionally DON'T buy a huge drink at the concession, so that way I don't have to disturb others by getting up during the middle of a movie to go pee (as well as not missing part of the movie for myself). I also don't buy and bring a bunch of food to my seat (usually only popcorn and a small drink), and I also don't buy anything in crinkly packaging so I don't make any noise. But if you do, please open it BEFORE the movie starts so you're not making noise and being annoying while the movie is playing.
Oh, and as a general rule: WASH YOUR DAMN HANDS AFTER USING THE BATHROOM!!! FFS! It's astounding to me how many people I see who don't wash their hands after using the facilities, and it's disgusting. 🤢 We live in a society, people! No one wants to touch your p*ss and s*** that you leave behind on every surface like Typhoid Mary. I think that's a common courtesy we all should do for each other.
I'll also add another thing: PLEASE don't go to a movie while you're sick. This isn't a COVID thing either. Regardless of if it's a cold or flu, no one wants to get sick just because YOU wanted to see a movie to the detriment of others. Just don't do it. Just wait until you're healthy again, and go when you're no longer contagious. We all thank you for that.
But also: don't hog armrests, and don't put personal belongings - purses, backpacks, shopping bags or a bunch of jackets - on empty seats; don't put your foot/feet on the seat or armrest in front of you; don't nudge the seat in front of you with your knees or with your foot; if the seats recline, be mindful of if that affects the people behind you and their space, etc.
And also, take your empty popcorn bag, empty packaging, cups or bottles to the trash after the movie has ended. Yes, there are people who clean up stuff that is left behind, but seriously, how freakin' lazy do you have to be? Half-drank cups and half-eaten popcorn/packages can still make a hell of a mess. Just pick it up and put it in the trash where it belongs. It's even lighter than when you brought it in with you, so just do it.
Overall, just generally be as quiet as you can, and be mindful and respectful of others in the way you want your theatre experience to be. Luckily, the last few theatre experiences I've had have been pretty good with no BS from other people going on. The last two especially were probably the best theatre experience I have ever had. Everyone was respectful, stayed in their seats, and were as quiet as a church mouse. Perfect.
Totally agree. Although sometimes I leave my packaging behind but that’s because it’s encouraged at the cinema I go to. What was the last movie you saw?
Heh. Well, admittedly, it's been awhile. I actually don't watch as many movies these days as I used to years ago, but the last movie I saw was Avatar: The Way of Water. Loved it. I am a fan of the first movie, so I was there on premier night and went to see it again a few more times after that. I was also going to see Oppenheimer, but I decided the subject matter was just to dark and morbid for me. Besides, the reviews seemed to be somewhat mixed with complaints about historical inaccuracies, so I guess it wasn't all that bad that I didn't see it. Maybe eventually though.
What about you? What was the last movie you saw?
*too dark
The last movie I saw was the new hunger games prequel adaptation. But I also saw Oppenheimer. I would recommend
yes, I behave... lol
