What are your thoughts on the Martin Lawrence appearance during the Martin Reunion Show?

So I watched some of the Martin Reunion show last night and one thing that stuck out to me was how Martin appeared. He seems reserved and when he spoke, was labored. I noticed for years now after that incident where he was taken to the hospital, Martin seems different. When he was watching clips of the show, it almost seemed like he didn’t remember them or was indifferent. I know he was hosting comedy shows but even then Martin wasn’t making jokes or being funny.

Has there been any reports about his mental or cognitive skills? There’s an obvious change in his personality.

Yeah, seems like he was going through a lot of mental health issues for a while.. I guess that slowed his comedy act down significantly..

He seemed quiet but not too different. I think its just cause he knew his costars wasn't fckin with him like that anymore plus he was sad about tommys death

He seemed fine in Bad Boys 3 aside from the weight gain

I also never knew he was engaged to Lark and sadly we see how she turned out

Yeah, I think in the Bad Boys 3 movie it was more of Will carrying it and his story than Martin in it. Others thought Marcus kinda went soft in the latest one. After all those years he was finally ready to retire so he got old and fat while Mike stayed in shape and still loved being in the field lol.

Yea but Bad Boys 4 is coming out and martin has been getting back into shape for it. he's just mainly focused on charity rn

Yes they did dated back in the day like in the early 90s. Lark was even in Martin for an episode which I think was the one Martin and Gina broke up temporarily during the whole chillin with the butt statue one lol I believe. He was up in the bar sad over it and Lark came in to console him. But the engagement part I never knew about between them but very much sad how she turned out. But From what I understand and found out now was he didn't exactly break-up with her on TV. He supposedly announced his engagement to someone else on TV on Arsenio in 1994, and it shocked her. Martin probably had no plans to marry Lark Voorhies at all, since he didn’t even have the decency to break up with her before going on to the show.

Yeah for real back to what you said about Martin on the reunion show, I seen that too now that you mention it. It must've been kinda awkward and depressing for Martin to be back on that set after all these years, knowing how things ended with the cast.

Like you said, finding out Tommy had passed too, that's heavy stuff. I'm sure looking back at the old episodes and memories brought a lot of emotions up. Probably made him quiet and more reserved.

Plus having all the attention on him again after being out of the spotlight, with the other actors who he ain't really rock with no more, I could see that putting pressure on him for real. Makes sense he wouldn't be totally comfortable crackin jokes.

You right, it ain't necessarily that something's wrong with him. More just the vibe of revisiting the past and stuff that went down. I bet inside he was feelin all type of ways. Makes his behavior make more sense thinkin about the context.

I thought it was more he got older and just toned down from the energetic and hyped comedian he used to be back in the 90s now he doesn’t have to be “on” for the cameras no more.
