What is something that is not traditionally considered artistic that you consider to have those same creative requirements and qualities?

Coding for my profession. Most people (sometimes even managers) seem to think of programming as something navigating the realm of right vs. wrong, and not so much beauty and design.

Of course if we make a mistake, that shows up as an error (build error for things like syntactical errors, runtime errors for errors despite correct syntax). Yet so too does architecture result in buildings collapsing if designs violate structural integrity.

So programming is quite strict in terms of correctness but there's still an infinite subset of correct design possibilities and that's where a programmer needs to apply their own subjective experience and even taste.

Have to go with video games here. It can combine so many different arts. Making a masterpiece is so hard to do.
