This one I downloaded:

I was trying to explain to a woman on here who thought aquiline/hooked noses were ugly, and I think they're very pretty and they remind of a lot of ancient Greco-Roman art.

So I looked up the images for hooked noses and found this one and I wanted to show it to her and explain why I think it's very pretty, like how the greater indentation below the brow ridge tends to pull more emphasis towards the eyes, and leads to the most interesting side contours in profile with more broken lines and curves (very interesting to draw).

@PrettyCrumblBb I find it very interesting. The woman thought it disrupts facial harmony. First I don't know exactly what the means, but just going by that idea, I think "perfect harmony" isn't all that interesting given the lack of contrast.

Like take a song with nothing but notes that have pure functional harmony, no dissonant notes, or no disruption to its rhythmic patterns, no polyrhythms, then it tends to become very repetitive and overly predictable, absent any sense of dissonance to actually help us appreciate the harmony that exists.

So I think it's often a yin-yang type of balance; we want enough structure to give a sense of cohesion but enough chaos to disrupt it and even help notice the value of the structure.

@PrettyCrumblBb Hip dips are another example I frequently find women insecure about in ways similar to the hooked/aquiline; basically any disruption of the smoothest contours.

So I always want to persuade them it's not at all unappealing; at least as appealing as the smoothest, undisrupted curves. To me it's even more visually appealing but I don't want to give women without aquiline/hooked noses or hip dips insecurities either.

Everyone tends to have interesting dissonant features here and there. But I really do want to challenge the idea in all realms of aesthetics that perfect harmony is somehow supposed to be ideal since I genuinely find it dull.

@PrettyCrumblBb I am actually kind of picky about things but I probably come off sounding less picky than I am since it's not one bodily feature that makes or breaks the image for me. It's about how everything fits together. So it's not like I think if we place a bloated belly on any random woman, it's going to be attractive. It's just that among the women I find attractive, bloated bellies can sometimes be included.

@PrettyCrumblBb She looks someone who might get bloated sometimes in ways that I think would definitely look very cute on her. She has that very nice kind of softness to her overall look and body.

A lot of Japanese women are similar: slim but not always very toned, and Japanese women tend to eat a lot of carbs with rice and noodles with almost everything. So they tend to get bloated bellies here and there despite maintaining a slim appearance everywhere else, and I always found it cute.

@PrettyCrumblBb For me she has a conformity to an extremely classic (ancient even) Western canon. I usually don't find conformity to canon all that interesting, but in this case I think this canon has become quite rare.

But also with much older canons, they have a stability to them. I'm in my 40s and I've seen popular canons come and go with each passing decade or so, like a fleeting fashion trend. So I try to resist getting too invested in contemporary canons.
