What did you think of the documentary 'The Story of Moses' on Netflix?

The new Moses doc on Netflix, "Testament," has been getting a lot of buzz. I haven't seen it myself yet, but I've heard it mixes classic retelling with expert interviews. Some people like that it focuses on Moses' journey as a leader, while others miss some of the more fantastical elements of the story. Would you recommend it? Maybe we can swap thoughts if you've seen it!

Well Moses (the religious character) never existed, so its not a documentary, its a fictional tale.

I haven't seen it, but if it claims to be a record of actual happenings, then its bad.

Maybe I've missed something on the documentary but all the historians in the series treat him as if he was a real person.

Those are not actual historians, they are just deluded people.
A paleontologist, archeologist, or other scholar who collects and studies evidence of the past is an actual historian.

Haven't finished it yet but I like it so far. The series on Alexander the Great was brilliant

I've also watched Alexander the Great. Hoping they'll do something similar about Cleopatra.

They did Cleopatra and pissed off a lot of people. Especially Egyptians. They put a black actress in as Cleopatra despite the historical records showing she was Hellenistic. The Egyptian government was pissed off and it only scored 2 % on the reviews on rotten tomatoes.

As far as I know they pulled it off the network to avoid the "black washing" comments. I think there may be clips around but they took it down before I had a chance to see it.

I know about that docuseries and never watched it. They should do a more accurate remake.

I agree. Check out "The Roman Empire". The second season is about Caesar and includes his relationship with Cleopatra. It's a decent series.
