Not "are they better than internal combustion"
Or "are they environmentally friendly or not"
It's purely based on looks, equipment, driving experience, etc.

In 1888, the German Andreas Flocken designed the Flocken Elektrowagen, regarded by some as the first "real" electric car. In 1890, Andrew Morrison introduced the first electric car to the United States. As for electric cars the idea sounds cool & in the late 1800’s I thought it was a really cool. Nowadays gas is still king & it always will be & if truth be told I’m not ready for electric cars however I would consider a hybrid.

Nowadays if you buy an electric car you have to buy a gas generator too. Electric cars are a lot heavier & older parking structures are failing due to the additional weight & speaking of weight the extra weight on your tires will cost you.
I’m not ready for electric & I don’t feel safe in one either.
I've never seen a cool looking electric car. Some look average and passable for a daily driver, but they are overpriced junk that are money burners... They're definitely not daily drivers when you could buy a gas daily driver and fuel for like 10 years just to get to the MSRP of a typical electric vehicle that doesn't look like it would fall apart if you farted after eating a tex-mex dinner. Not to mention cost of maintenance for internal combustion engines is way lower. Dropping $20 grand or whatever for a new battery pack vs maybe a couple hundred bucks for small repairs to keep an older car going is a huge difference.
I heard that used batteries are very dangerous for the environment
They are.
If it’s not a Tesla and especially not a cyber truck, yes.

Personally, I would not yet buy an EV for myself.
However, if I might consider EVs for personal use, I'd pick one or all three of these:
1.

2.

3.

Those 3 are the only ones aesthetically pleasing ("cool-looking") to my eyes.
an electric car that is charged with electricity that comes from a coal generator isn't gonna be more environmentally friendly than an internal combustion engine car. so a lot of it depends on the infrastructure of the electric grid.
generally i like how quiet they are and how much power even the lower end models can generate. the downsides are however that the battery life sucks at higher speed or in low temperature. so me being german with the "no speedlimit" autobahn who also has cold harsh winters really gets to feel all the drawbacks of electric.
They are pretty cool. They are quiet and fast as hell./ It is too bad the technology is not mature enough for prime time. They do not have enough range and they take a long time to charge. there are not nearly enough charging stations and they are heavier than a IC vehicle. And they spontaneously combust and it costs 10-15 K to replace the battery.
Not really cool. They are much more expensive than gas-powered cars, much heavier, require special tires, and chew up the pavement... without paying anything to take car of the roads (gas tax at the pump). And let's not forget that their battery life is no more than 10 years, after which you're either faced with a $50K bill to replace them, or an environmental nightmare to discard them or recycle them.
@AviatorTom California wants to change that by instead of charging a gas tax, they just charge a tax on every car on a per mile basis. So EV cars then get taxed too at the same rate. Therefore, buying an electric car saves them no money. It's a total rip.
They have their place, but to try to force every car owner to to shift over to them is problematical as the national grids and power generation (especially when you consider the drift to "Renewables" that cannot sustain the needed generation) in Western Countries cannot conceivably be able to cope with the charging demands.
I think the manufacturers are trying extra hard to make them look kool in order to increase sales. I’m not sure if they’re necessarily succeeding.
The antis are always going to be antis, no matter how dumb their excuses have to become.
In years to come maybe, but as of now? nope, Expensive to buy, expensive to maintain and the cells which last around 5 years cost thousands to replace.
Personally, I would love to have my car - which is approaching 200,000 miles - converted to electric to extend the life of the vehicle AND be environmentally friendly.
They are fun to drive. But driving range needs to be improved. Very responsive, smooth and you never knew how much road noise there was.
They are not for everyone. Not everyone will want one!
Yes. Cool doesn’t have to be perfect. (Or even real. Flying cars are awesome. lol) Hopefully we’ll get great and affordable eco friendly travel soon, but that’s not even the coolest part about them. It’s the looks.
regardless of how they go around... some are cool, some aren't
They serve a purpose, I keep thinking if we ever get down to 2 cars one might be useful , or right now a hybrid would make more sense to me.
I think they can be. Teslas and cyber trucks though... Decidedly not cool.
Design wise theyre cool. That said id rather walk then give Elon musk on dime and support his views and causes
I'm not a fan of the aesthetics. They just don't look very good to me.
I meanwhile find cars to be uncool in general.
I’ll never give up my old cars, but EV tech does interest me
"Cool"? LOL, no. They're expensive, unreliable, and tend to go up in flames. In other words, they're basically junk.
Cool but impractical
