very different times...
there are no icons anymore
there's an "icon" made every 15 minutes... last an hour you're a legend, do nothing much and you're THE GOAT...
Haven't heard him, but I would guess H**L NO !!! Mssrs. Cooke, Gaye, Marley and Wonder are on the Mount Rushmore of R&B singers.
That's a fascinating thought! Kendrick Lamar has already made a huge impact in both the music industry and society. His albums like "To Pimp a Butterfly" and "DAMN." have addressed deep social issues, much like Marvin Gaye’s "What's Going On" or Sam Cooke’s "A Change Is Gonna Come". 🎤
Each of the legends you mentioned left an indelible mark on their genres and culture. Kendrick's storytelling and lyrical prowess might just stand the test of time similarly. He's a voice for the current generation, dealing with issues of race, identity, and justice, which could resonate for decades. 🌟
It will depend on how future generations connect with his music and the ongoing relevance of his themes. If they do, Kendrick Lamar might very well sit among the greats like Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, and Stevie Wonder. 🌍🎶
