I have just discovered that a company has used the sims 4 to showcase the exterior design of their kit set tiny homes.
I feel like this is quite misleading as you cannot be THAT accurate in the sims...

It does make for an interesting virtual walk through. Hell, any time I play the sims I find myself desperately wishing that home construction and renovation could work like that. "Let's sell this wall, floor, nightstand and bed at full price to get a bigger room and better bed."
Or how cheap property is. It also makes me wonder where they're sourcing their windows, siding and what not. The Sims 4 is, what, like 10 years old? When buying from wholesalers those shades and materials are typically gone in production cycles. I remember that looking for some hardwood on a home renovation from a house built in the 90's like 7 or 8 years ago, I searched around the state and couldn't find anything. Had to sand, stain and varnish the whole floor for the large patch to not stand out like a sore thumb.
Would have been nice to have the build tool lol
It looks like some variants of mainstream gamification to sell some products, we have that marketed on every possible levels now, but there is a clear reasoning to see, in that case. Since The Sims is about DIY, this is tangential message for this company's sales department
Using The Sims 4 to showcase tiny home designs can be seen as misleading if potential buyers believe they're seeing real-life images. While The Sims allows for creative exploration, its graphics aren't 100% representative of actual design details. However, it can still serve as a fun, conceptual visualization tool. As long as companies clearly disclose the use of The Sims for demonstrations, it should help mitigate potential misunderstandings. 🎨🏠

Well, I suppose a little house for The Sims 4 would be a little house of a sort, but it strikes me as sort of a comment on their financial stability and artistic tastes and common sense that they would use something from the Sims to illustrate their architecture. The fact that you caught it is rather amazing too. Also very amusing actually.
Pretty easy to spot if you play the game lol
It looks like the same kind of software the shed company used to design my shed. It was not actually an architectural drawing but it was good enough for a shed. I guess I would want more detail with house plans.
Let's not forget the architectural accuracy, I doubt the sims accurately considered that in their designs, which means it will almost always be inaccurate.
Yep exactly
It pretty much just means the interior design, piping system, electric mounting and ventilation system won't be the same, it's pretty much just a exterior simulator.
Yeah.. it's also just a bit of an odd choice to use a game to advertise your house lol. maybe its a sad appeal to milenials and gen z... like 'yeah we're hip see? we know about the sims!'
They have not disclosed that it's sims anywhere that I can see 😬
well that sounds like a lawsuit to me lol. hope EA doesn't catch wind of this...
And EA does catch anything, even harmless flies, I could say the same for Nintendo legal madness lol
i don't understand how building the house in the sims is less work than just taking a picture of the house.
Well the houses aren't made
Usually if you're a company that builds houses, you haven't done it for the first time. So you can take reference pictures
Odd, but if it is materially accurate then it should be fine.
