What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to your TV viewing choices?

I almost never watch TV, which is a boring answer, lmao

But I remember like 10+ years ago my girlfriend was watching some reality show —and I usually don’t like reality TV— called Bad Girls Club. My WORD, was that show entertaining😂

I think I caught on several seasons in, but I remember my lady would watch it, and I’d watch with her. In a word…”ratchet”, lmfao. In a few more….”scandalous skeezers and scallywags”😝

Lmao, but in seriousness, it was like “The Real World”, but for strippers😂😂😂 And not the “working to pay for college” or “hard up and desperate” type of stripper that you respect and maybe feel sympathy for…. we’re talking PROFESSIONAL strippers. Slip something in your drink, get you in the Champagne Room, dance for 15 minutes til you pass out, and let them keep whacking your credit card for $500 an hour til you come-to at 7:30 AM, several thousands of dollars later, lmao. These chicks were VIPERS. I think some weren’t strippers, but were kind of rough-and-tumble women in general.

So they’d all live together, and eventually someone clashes with someone else, and there are alliances and rivalries between cliques. They’re half naked the majority of the time, getting in full-on fistfights…WILD shit lmfao.

And some of them are TAPPED. There are some semi-normal ones, or some who you can tell have just kinda “been through it” in life and evoke sympathy and understanding…but one or two each season would just be NUTS.

I remember one gal who was just CLEARLY trying to find a reason to instigate a problem, after a night out at the club, they come home and she’s making this huge scene that one of the girl was dancing too slutty with a guy or something (she might’ve really been mad that she was getting more attention, I forget), and she’s flipping out and basically saying it’s a bad look on all of them, and she’s just doing the yell-clap thing, like “I’m a classy ass bitch, dog!👏👏👏”, it was a riot🤣

Then this other woman was a straight up sociopath, they had a therapist meeting with all the ladies, and when it was her turn, the therapist would just be like “But don’t you see how that’s inappropriate and insensitive to the other person?”, like just appealing to base-level human decency and social decorum, and to everything this woman said, she’d just say “…to YOU.”, like that’s just a matter of opinion, and she’s only concerned with her own opinion. Like a complete refusal to be an even-just-a-little-bit-“ok” human🤦‍♂️ Again, probably had a terrible childhood, etc, I get it…. but she was easy to dislike.

And then another one the therapist met with, who was always getting mad about something and flipping out…. the lady asks her what kinds of things make her mad. She’s like “I don’t like when bitches tap their nails on the table. I don’t like when bitches snap their gum. I don’t like when bitches’ noses whistlin’ when they breathe.”😂😂😂 Just being alive around her was cause to set her off.

So that made for a GREAT show, quite the guilty pleasure, but a pleasure just the same, haha

Shout out to Blu, I don’t think I saw her fight, but she was just player-cool. I think I’d think she was more of an asshole if she were a dude, but since she’s a lady, I kind of let some shit slide😅😂

The part a couple minutes in with the crying/laughing girl, saying Michael Jackson appeared to her in a dream and told her he’d soon die…and Blu is like “Ok. DONE. This bitch is crazy.” I was just like “This one is somewhat sane, she’s seeing what I’m seeing here”👀🤣

I have been seen watching Dragon Ball at 30yo, pretending I was showing the animated series to my daughter, which was true, but not only for her lol. Ten years later, I actually watched almost the entire franchise, over a year, without my daughter. I don't feel any guilt anymore it seems, and it was a pleasure (I did skip some filler scenes though, even episodes probably)🤔

Reality TV is my ultimate guilty pleasure! There's just something entertaining about the drama, unexpected twists, and quirky personalities. Shows like "The Bachelor" or "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" are those I enjoy unwinding with after a long day, even if they're not everyone's cup of tea. 📺✨

I pretty much stopped watching TV. Maybe sports or Sunday pundit shows. My time is spent trying to keep my family alive. My weeknights and weekends are my second full-time job doing that.

However, I will sometimes watch old TV shows like original Star Trek or Law & Order / L&O: Criminal Intent or All in the Family.

Really, I watch YouTube videos now. Mmmmaybe a movie - for instance, I finally made the time to see A Quiet Place: Day One. While it was a fine movie, the creatures are becoming increasingly unbelievable and that's making it difficult.

HOWEVER, even though I don't watch them on a regular basis anymore, I do have a guilty pleasure of South Park, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. Futurama is OK. Bob's Burgers is too painful to watch - everybody looks like a fucking Q-Tip and that wife (voiced by a man) is - watching and listening to her is a new form of torture.

my favorite to watch is si-fi, especially the older series like Star Trek enterprise and the next generation. Then there's Firefly, star gate, andromeda, and buck rogers. You can't beat the old si-fi classic movies like The day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds, Starman, Star trek-The Voyage Home, The Last Starfighter, When Worlds Collide, The Time Machine (1960), Planet of the Apes, and my all time favorite- Forbidden Planet ( 1956). Then there's some movies of a more recent nature like "Avatar", Blade Runner, the Matrix, Galaxy Quest, Back to the Future, The Terminator, just to name a few.

When I'm bored, I watch free Youtube movies on my laptop. My go to genre is action adventure, especially those where some evil government or corporate officials are trying to shut people up and one or more bad ass antiheroes have to fuck up a lot of bad guys until they finally take down the head honchos.

I like other genre's too, particularly films from the 1930s through the 1970s.

I love re-watching ROTTMNT on Netflix sometimes. Last night I think it was on Max I was watching some of Ed, Edd, N Eddy. I think that cartoon is a bit better to watch when you're older since as a little kid you might not pay as much attention to what's going on. I only faintly remember the show so, it only makes sense.

I don't listen to this type of music but I like a structurally there are a lot of nice sounding songs that have bad lyrics. It's like a poutine, tastes appetizing but makes you fat and shortens your life. That is how I feel about a lot of things in the media, at a surface level, it seems enticing, but I know it is not good for me so I avoid it.
