Classical music is a great legacy for the world, isn't it?

As is a great deal of more contemporary music.
Music, like comedy, is subjective. If you think a piece of music - say Britten's War Requiem - is an incredible expression of the composer's art and vision you're absolutely correct. But if I say it's utter shit and sounds like a kindergarten choir pushing a bag of instruments down a flight of stairs, so am I. The opinion is subjective and personal.
I say this as someone who performed classical music for 17 years and have family playing in two national philharmonic orchestras.
I've also sung as both lead and backup vocals on recordings of contemporary songs. My cousin plays cello in a string quartet and bass in a metal band.
Each piece leaves a unique legacy.
Sir Christopher Lee was not only a noted actor, he was a member of the SAS, witnessed the last public beheading by guillotine in France, and holds the world record for the oldest performer on a number one heavy metal album.
Like I said, unique...
Classical music formed the base for the evolution of music. If you carefully study today's music, including rap, you'll find links back to the classics.
Except Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, etc. didn't sing about busting a cap in someone or calling them n****r, b***h, ho, chi*ken head, etc.
Absolutely! It is truly inspirational music.
