Cinematic Lily, "The Boys Are Back In Town" came out in 1976, when another charismatic figure, Detroit Tigers rookie right-handed pitcher Mark "the Bird" Fidrych, leapt onto the MLB scene with a 19-9 record and a 2.34 earned run average (ERA), which was second in the American League behind eventual A. L. Cy Young Award winner, the Baltimore Orioles right-hander Jim Palmer.(Fidrych was A. L. Rookie Of The Year, and second to Palmer for the league's Cy Young Award). Howver, a leg injury and should injury in 1977 curtailed Fidrych's promising career, which ended in 1980;he died at age 54 in an Apr.13,2009 accident on his Massachusetts farm.
Thin Lizzy had other hits such as "Cowboy Song,""Jailbreak" (my second favourite Thin Lizzy hit after "the Boys Are Back In Town") and a great cover of Bob Seger's "Rosalie," an ode to the late CKLW (Windsor, Detroit 50,000-watt music powerhouse rock station) program director Rosalie Trombley. It's a joke that Phil Lynott singly and Thin Lizzy, the band, aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

I have not heard of much from them. Maybe they have done more, but to me they were a one-hit-wonder. The boys are Back in Town was OK, but nothing special.

To me, that was near the beginning of the dark ages of rock (the late 70s). Music had lost it's soul.
