So I would say like 4-5 years ago, I couldn’t even sing happy birthday in tune.
However even though I sounded like shit, I loved singing and I would do it anyway.
y’all know Ariana Grande is one of my favorite artists and listening to clips of her is what made me fall in love with singing. And I would sit there and try to repeat her runs and riffs. Again, sounded horrible but I would do it anyway lol
and these years of just pretending to know how to sing, has actually incredibly improved my voice. So now I’m at a point where I get compliments on my singing and I sound somewhat decent.
Still not on the level of Ariana or Beyonce but I think I can now sing better than the average person. my voice seems to improve all the time.
i went to a karaoke bar recently with coworkers and i sang a song and literally everyone loved it. And people were coming up to me after telling me how good I am. I mean not that the expectations at a karaoke bar are set very high but I was still so proud of myself 😭😭
People are always under the impression that you’re either born knowing how to sing or you can’t. But your voice is a muscle and just like any other muscle, you can work it out and improve it.
now I’m thinking of maybe taking singing lessons. For a while I didn’t because I didn’t think I was even good enough for a professional to help me.
So sometimes they be singing and sounding amazing and I get insecure again
