No. My wife and I have enough hobbies. LOL. I thought about it in the past but never got around to it.
We have an almond tree and 18 fruit trees, including 7 citrus trees, that the bees love when they are blossoming. We have a giant rosemary bush and a couple of giant chaste bushes that are swarming with bees when they are covered with flowers. I like to stand right next to those and watch all the busy bees, butterflies and other pollinators. In fact, we have quite a few flowers and bushes, herbs and veggies that the bees like throughout the spring, summer and early fall.
In the summer, we have a birdbath with little stones for the bees to stand on and drink.
I never see honey bees in our yard, though.
I love bees.
There are nearby neighbors that keep bees and one with an orchard has lots of bee hives.
There is even a place up the road that make mead.
My wife used to be.
Sadly I don’t because it gets too cold here to keep them year round… 🐝 ❄️
I'm not but I know some one who is he's old enough to be my grandpa

When I was 15 years old, I read up on beekeeping and I saved up my money from working for my dad. I had all of the order forms filled out and I was ready to buy all of the stuff needed to start a beehive! I had a big book on it and even subscribed to a magazine on the hobby. But my parents ultimately wouldn't let me because we lived in the city and it wasn't really the best place for them. One of the many situations where my parents were likely right because it wasn't the best place for them.
Interesting hobby! Let us know how it goes if you do it.
I'm not a beekeeper but I know that they're very important besides just making honey.
They are very important for pollinating plants including fruit and nut trees.
Hopefully the serious problem with colony collapse disorder has gotten better.
We don't keep bees but we have flowers that encourage bees to visit and pollinate them.
@AviatorTom as bees are very important on farm
ditto.
We do too. Unfortunately, our town has a "no mow until Mother's Day" option for homeowners who haven't really thought this through. Yes, the bees may have a few more options, but few of them are good- AND everyone else has to suffer from dandelion seeds being blown all over messing up THEIR lawns.
@Kelly6 Did you see Jason Statham in "The Beekeeper"... Are you going to be THAT kind of beekeeper? 😂😂
@Bricealan no, but will see
Look into Mason Bees which is a type of bees that are super pollinators and easy to care for. I know someone who has them and have watched some YouTube videos and read articles on them. You need far fewer of them and they take little in the way of care.
I just found this article that compares a hive oriented honey bee to a solitary Mason bee. FYI, it says that 1 mason bee pollinates the same number of plants as 100 honey bees.

I don't , but I've had friends who have done it , and they all really loved their bees.
Good luck enjoy :)
Nah, but that's because I'm allergic. One sting, and if I don't get an epi pin in 10 minutes , I'm dead. Even if I get it on time I still gotta go to the hospital.
Cool. I'm not yet, but I'm researching hive types, locations, etc at the moment. Looking for a few acres/hectares to homestead
Make sure you have the proper equipment and training to know what you're doing, and thank you; the more pollinators, the better.
I was actually the inspiration for Jason Statham's character in The BeeKeeper.
No experience. But I do recognize how valuable they are in the food chain. Love to eat it!
No, but I've been stung by a few bees.
I know nothing about that subject.
I don't know but that's great!!
No, but that would be intersting.
No I fear them dang things
That’s awesome. They are very interesting
I do not understand..
No but I get lots in my garden
