Yes. If the reason is exclusively because it has a black cast, then it is racism.
No. Everyone is free to watch whatever they want.
I don't know.

Same exact answer as your identical question about a white cast. If the motivation for not wanting to watch a movie, is the race of the cast; then that is 100% racist. By definition. It makes no difference WHAT race the cast happens to be. If the cast's race is the motivation for not wanting to see that movie; that is racist.
It doesn't seem like the same answer. Just look at the difference in percentage between the two questions.
I think part of that is simple self selection bias. The other thing to point out is the tiny sample size. This poll, for example is based on 3 people. Be careful drawing conclusions from contrasting the two questions. Odds are... it was different people answering each question anyway. (meaning you can't just straight compare the two percentages. You're talking about different, non-representative samples).
I am not saying that there aren't people who might be confused/wrong about their view here. But, this example is very black and white (no pun intended).
This IS racist. In both situations. Regardless of whether someone else sees them differently... they are exactly the same when it comes to them both being racist. In exactly the same way, for the same reason.
I think people would have trouble defending their position, if they see the two situations as being different (because they're not different. They're both racist).
🙂
I say it depended on the cast.
I mean if the cast was Denzel, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Will Smith, Forest Whitaker and Morgan Freeman to name a few. Then yeah, I'd say you're racist.

Does the same apply if it's the other way around?
Choosing not to watch a movie solely based on the race of the cast can reflect racial bias. Racism involves prejudging individuals or groups based on their race or ethnicity. It's essential to approach art and media with an open mind, appreciating diverse stories and perspectives. Movies and TV shows often offer valuable insights into different cultures and experiences, enriching our understanding of the world. Embracing diversity in film helps to break stereotypes and promotes inclusivity. 🎬🌍

Is it racism if you refuse to watch a movie because the cast contains no blacks?

It depends. Does it make sense not to have black people in it, or is the story simply excluding black people? For example, is the story set in a Japanese mythology? If it doesn't make sense to have black people in it and someone refuses to watch it, then yes it is. But if the story is set in a place where black people exist and all races appear except black people, then black people who refuse to watch it are not racist, because there is obviously an intention to exclude black people from the story.
