10 moThe Big Bang Theory should follow up on the episode where they all agreed to show up 20 years later, but only Stuart showed up. Where was everyone? Why didn't they show up?
How I Met Your Mother could show Robin and Ted after the kids convince their father to go to Robin's place with the blue French Horn in the last episode. Did they get married? Then break up... again? Lots of possible plot lines.
How about All In The Family. Archie and Edith are dead, but Robb and Gloria could be shown in their old age, with their adult kids. Have they changed? Is Robb as bad as Archie was?

For sure, they need that 20-year-later episode for the Big Bang Theory.
I agree that How I Met Your Mother needs a sequel. But to correct the ending where Ted and Robin end up together. She belongs with Barney lol

Dang... to each their own, but that's one of the shows I LEAST want a sequel to.
From Breaking Bad to Better Call Saul to El Camino, I say it all wrapped up nicely. I don't want Breaking Bad to become one of the shows they milk forever till it starts to gradually decline in quality more and more till everyone is sick of it and just waiting for it to be cancelled.
Where would it even go from there anyway? With the exception of Jesse all the good characters are dead already.
The only way I could see it MAYBE working was if they made a prequel about Gus exploring Gus's history more or something.
But yeah. To each their own. I get wanting to see more and more of a show you love. But I think Breaking Bad wrapped up nicely and I don't want to see the creators milking it till it starts to decline in quality.

Hmm that could still work well actually. Since it's an type of episodic show with very little overall continuity that more or less resets after each episode (with few exceptions) it can basically go on forever and still be entertaining.
Would be kind of harder to do with a more serialized show that already wrapped up its overarching story nicely and doesn't really have anywhere else to go. When creators try to milk THOSE types of shows it usually goes sour quickly.
m 10 mo@EzraIsShy76028 YES! 😍 That’s one of the reasons I love that show— I used to watch whatever random episode aired on TV and never felt confused about what was happening. There was always something new to look forward to.
So true! That’s exactly what happened with That’s So Raven. Raven’s Home was painful to watch. As much as I love shows like Modern Family and F. R. I. E. N. D. S., I wouldn’t want the writers to stretch the story any further.
Can't think of anything on the top of my head now but maybe a "x years later" kind of thing would work for a lot of sitcom type of shows~

I don't like sequels. To me, they're nothing but a lazy way to come up with content without spending the creative energy to create something new.
There are plenty of shows that I really liked and was sad when they ended. Creating sequels of any would diminish the originals.
20 ReplyNone. Pretty much every successful TV show ends up outstaying its welcome already, as the writers always run out of ideas long before the series gets cancelled.
The only really successful example of anything like that, that I can think of, is the 4-year time jump between seasons 4 and 5 of "One Tree Hill", where the main characters went from high school students to adults with careers and families.00 Reply- 666 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.
10 mo“Firefly” and “Lie to Me”, criminally underrated shows with too few seasons. If they brought back the same cast, i’m 100% invested in both. If they at least get some of the writers and directors back, and attempt to reenact the original mystique, i’m probably gonna watch it. I’ll watch the first few episodes even if it looks like a lousy version money grab on the name alone. Ell oh ell!

10 moThe Sopranos but a sequel is going to ruin the ending and given how much of the cast has passed (most of those who survived the end the actors have passed and much of the cast were snuffed out or as good as in one case in the last handful of episodes)
