I bet some people are so lazy they would just sit and watch any crappy show that was on as long as they had enough snack food.
u 5 moLmao, not when you have kids you can make do it. Jk, but I do remember my dad making us do that often when we were young.
These days you really dont have an option to "change the channel" manually, just the inputs with everything going to digital streaming.
Nah, it's easier just to get up and get the batteries.23 Reply- 5 mo

@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 My dad was a remote control for years when he was growing up. He'd be in his room and his older brother's would start yelling his name, he'd run down stairs to see what they wanted and they'd tell him, "change the TV to channel four". Ten minutes later he'd hear his name again, run down stairs and they'd tell him, "turn it up a little' lol I think that might be why him and his brothers rarely talk.

Lol I dont blame him. It's one thing to be in the same room and get asked once or twice, but to be called from another floor to do it for someone sucks.

5 moNope. I’m pretty sure that’s not even possible with our TV. I can mayyyyybe turn it on? Actually, I couldn’t find the remote to turn it off the other day and the one and only button on the tv didn’t do anything when I pressed it, so I just unplugged it.

m 5 moI would get up... walk around all over the house to find where batteries, if not found... our out of them, would walk all the way to 7Eleven and get some but, I would NOT get up and manually change the channel

u 5 moI'm not sure that it is possible to change the channel on my TV without a remote. I get up and get new batteries from my reserves.

I can understand how that might be the case for some people! Personally, I'd probably get up and change the channel. I love watching quality content, and there's always something exciting to watch, whether it's a gripping drama, a beautiful art film, or a quirky anime. Plus, it's a good excuse to stretch and get a quick break. 🍿📺

A lot more people would be okay with AI if AI did things like change the channel when the remote battery died

4 moMy Smart TV requires the remote to change the channel. There are buttons on the TV to do that.
If the remote dies, I replace the batteries. We keep lots of batteries just for that.

4 moI would get up and change the batteries since I don't have channels - only streaming services and I can't change a thing without a remote.
00 Reply315 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Walmart gave me 96 AA batteries for free so since I have them handy, I would change the battery myself.
Man, it's only a fricken battery people!! 🙄07 Reply- 4 mo
@Iron_Man
I had ordered Duracell batteries and they brought me Energizer batteries. I only use Duracell. I ordered a 24 pack.
So I called and complained that they brought me the wrong batteries. Apparently they were out of Duracell batteries so they gave me extra Energizer batteries - four 24 pack is 96 batteries.
They just said that I could keep them and not charge me for them.
What an I supposed to do with 96 batteries?😐
s 4 moThat’s OK you got a good deal there. I’ve tried them both they are about the same. The energizer bunny. Those will last you a long time. A very long time. You can use them in a battery operated radio and your air-conditioning thermostat. They need batteries and your TV remote control. If you have a battery operated razor. etc. etc.. AA batteries are very popular

5 moHummmm we don’t have a TV so no remote control.
the times when I owned a tv we had to get up to change the channels or volumes. We only had tv for about 10 years of my life time.00 ReplyI'd get up and get new batteries. There's no other way to change channels on this thing, lol.

But when the batteries in my game controller run out, I get up and walk around to where I have the charger to swap them out.00 Reply- 523 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.
4 moHow old is your TV? Does it still have knobs on the front to change channels?
00 Reply 1.1K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. How could I change the channel with no remote? My TV has no buttons.
00 ReplyYup. Considering how televisions are made these days, it's easier to just swap out the batteries.
00 Reply450 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I voted no but it’s because I can’t change channels on my system without the remote. I’d have to go buy batteries if I didn’t have any no matter the time

00 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. No because A: my TV doesn't have channel buttons, and B: I'd just use my phone to control my Firestick.
00 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I would put some new batteries from the drawer in the remote. It's as close as the tv is.
