What shows or movies did you're super religious strict parents never allowed you to watch?

I wasn't allowed to watch Adams family , SpongeBob , fairly odd parents, Anastasia , The nightmares before Christmas, Coraline, Beetle Juice. What about you if you had scrict parents what shows weren't you allowed to watch as a kid?

I never had that problem. I had a friend who did though. What’s worse, he went to a public skool. So he was constantly exposed through his friends and classmates to “Masters of the Universe”, “Thundercats”, Marvel comics characters, and other things he was denied access to at home. It seems like it would be less of an issue if he went to a religious skool where everyone had the same restrictions. You wouldn’t really know what you’re missing. But he kind of lived a double life. So when he was old enough to make those choices for himself, he went way the other direction. He luvs all that scifi and fantasy stuff; shows, movies, books, etc. He even wears a lot of superhero shirts.

So true and you know the day the have about strict parents creates sniky kids. I assume you're friend was sniky and found ways to get stuff. I am sure you could have let him borrow a comic book at recess and his parents wouldn't even notice. Marvel comics are a legend. The more parents restricted all that stuff the more that child rebels.

I'm glad to say there is no religion in my family for a least 2 generations. BUT my mother was always a pacifist and she outright refused to let me play Mortal Kombat. Ever. Likewise she wouldn't let me watch any action films because they were "too violent".

We were catholic in my house growing up, but we weren’t super religious. I went to church on Sundays, went to catechism classes and confession once a week but that was it. As long as I didn’t watch anything with extreme violence or nudity my mom didn’t care.

That's amazing parents caring for the well mental being of the child. And not because it's against their religion. I like that when parents are more caring if it will affect mentally or emotionally and what impact will it have on the child. My parents were all oh that's demonic to the point my mom was no we are not being a Loreal shampoo because she read in some magazine article that it was demonic.

Thanks for you're kind words hon. No kidding living with my parents is like walking on eggshells. Yes a shampoo. She throw away all my Abercrombie clothes which it was expensive because she tough it has demonic influence. I got out once I graduated high school. I learn to be sniky and a liar to my parents. The strict parents creates sniky kids. I would always do stuff behind my mom's back. I always changed clothes at school.

My parents were always so open so friendly... specially my dad... he has been one of my best friends ever... I used to share everything with him n he always encouraged me for it... they always said that children only lie when parents make them n eventually children end up being in troubles...

Really, I didn't have any restrictions when it came to TV shows and movies as a kid, was allowed to watch anything as long as it didn't contain nudity.

We could watch any kids shows but they were very picky about other stuff. My Dad particularly hated comedy shows, which he believed were in poor taste. Which a lot of the time was accurate.
