So, which artist confounds you as to why they had/have a career at all?
Which singing artist do you never understand how anyone enjoyed their music?

The Doors, dumbest crap I ever heard. A lot of the bands in the 70s when I was a kid were shitty. Their whole drug culture persona always seemed dumb to me. People loved that shit and imitated the lifestyle they portrayed too. I lived in a neighborhood that was full of those clowns. I say was because their drug use depopulated them, every last one of them died. I remember the asshole kids in school drawing band logos and constantly talking about every detail of these bands. Every one of them was just too fucking cool. "Look at me I think being a doped up loser is cool" . Ha ha ha, fast forward to the 21st century and I'm looking at all the junk cars from the 70s and 80s these assholes drove. They're all full of dirt , windows broken out sitting up on blocks. And where are they? They're like their machinery, dead and covered up with dirt. So turns out, you weren't cool, your music wasn't cool, and no one remembers you or your stupid cars. The drugs you thought were so great, killed you!
Hmmm…. well, I have a lot of musicians who I’m more like “somewhere out there, there’s somebody, and their favorite act of all time is” [insert weird or just mediocre artist]. In my mind, I’m thinking of REM, haha, who aren’t BAD, but I’m just like “who is the type of person who goes out and buys an REM CD?” (years ago, dating myself, lmao) I can think of groups with worse songs, it’s not that they’re terrible, I even soft-like a few of their songs, maybe aided by a decent measure of nostalgia for the 90s in general. But just the vibe of REM…. who does that match? I guess I’m thinking “theater kids” of a certain era🤣
Anyway, I’m not here to pile on REM, haha. But in terms of more “I just don’t get it….. what’s the appeal?”…. maybe Björk? I’m just like “Is this…Is this a fever dream?”, lmfao
I honestly never gave this idea any thought because if it’s not something I like, then I’m just not the audience for it and I left it alone. I never hated or disliked someone’s music so much that I would openly complain about it with others.
JLo comes to mind. Never understood how people could find her singing as singing or that she had great hit songs.
Music is like gaming, where everyone's experience is personal and unique. 🎵 While I might not personally vibe with certain artists, I appreciate that others find joy in their music. It's similar to how some gamers love intense strategy games, while others are drawn to relaxing simulations. It's all about finding what resonates with you and sharing those passions with others. Let your musical tastes, just like your gaming preferences, reflect what truly makes you happy! 😊

Oh man this list is long.
Lol oh gosh, my boyfriend is gonna be devastated to hear you call out Bon Jovi. Probably one of his favorites or close to it.
Umm... sorry? But, the brain likes what the brain likes. I tend to like deeper lyrics with political and social messages that make me think. There's nothing wrong with feel good rock with a beat though.
Lol no need to apologize. Just commenting on that one specifically since I had a tie to it.
Bob Dylan - can’t stand his voice
Axel Rose - sounds like a retarded Bob Dylan
Janis Joplin - Her voice is horrible
4 Non Blondes Singer , whatever her name is - Horrible
Blink 182 - Garbage
There are a lot more …
Björk which seems to be the only Icelandic artist people know. I cringe every time someone mentions her.
Aside from a couple of songs, I don’t understand how anyone can listen to Taylor Swift.
Not to hate on her “message” but my ears physically hurt when I bump into one of her songs
The Queen of Skanks: Janis Joplin
The Queen of Skanks II: Amy Winehouse
Both dead at 27:
Janis: Heroin overdose
Amy: Alcohol poisoning
SZA, I just can’t understand a word of what she says.
Mark Almond mostly. A couple of reasonable songs
Not to be confused with the Mark-Almond band

@exitseven Was unaware of Mark-Almond band, so thanks for qualifying
99% of pop music and 100% of rap.
It is all complete garbage. Liking either is indicative of brain-damage.
Peter Gabriel. Even in his Genesis days he was an ass to fans, band, everyone and his only "talent" his fluffing his ego
I agree with you on this, definitely Fergie, also Amy Winehouse, and most of the heavy metal bands.
Um, in Fergie’s case, it’s not about her voice…
all the music produced today sounds the same. It is hard to pick one.
Fantasia. Dime-a-Dozen Zero Talent. Anyone could sing the songs she sings, the same way or better than she does.
K-I-D R-O-C-K, who's f***ed up three music genres, making him eligible to be the charter member of the Rock And Roll Hall Of SHAME !!!
Sia sounds drunk
Kesha, Billie, Jlo, Ariana, Madonna and Taylor have a good voice.
Bob Dylan. Janis Joplin. Most modern singers
“Paul Simon.” There are a lot, but he’s the only unfortunate bastard that comes to mind.
Michael Jackson, especially when he was young in the Jackson 5. Sounded like a drowning rat.
Karin Dreijer from the group The Knife. I knew a girl who loved their music and it just screamed insanity.
Phish and Taylor swift
It's a long list.
She isn't famous ONLY for her music 🤭
