He's a tad before my time so it didn't change much because I wasn't following everything in real time. I knew he was in the Culture Club, but I mostly remember being surprised he went to jail for basically tying up a hooker in his house and attacking him and wasn't shunned by society like most famous people would've been. Then he popped up as a coach on the Voice in the UK and Australia and I find him creepy sometimes on those but also funny occasionally.
I liked the culture club when I was a kid. I enjoyed Boy George's singing. I really didn't keep up with him after that, so I really couldn't say much more.
My opinion? I haven't thought about this guy since the 1980's when he had his moment of fame.
I'm not really that familiar with him... or his music
When I was younger, I only knew Boy George as the colorful 80s pop icon from Culture Club, very flashy and androgynous 🎨. Over time, watching interviews and docs, Iโve come to see him as far more complex: witty, sharp, vulnerable, sometimes difficult, but very self-aware. His voice has aged beautifully, and I respect how openly he owns his past and keeps reinventing himself 🌈🎶.
